Cool man, now just relax. Do whatever you want, try a custom ROM or flash the stock ROM, but take it slow and read everything very carefully. Make sure that whatever you flash is for the correct model! Flashing is easy, just be patient and don't rush it.
 
Sad day... :( Phone has died. Phantom charging, over-voltage alerts. Seems the USB port and board has gone. Does anyone know where to get a cheap replacement. I see phone extreme has got the board but R200 seems a bit steep plus will need a new battery as well which is R300.

Sorry to hear that.

I simply cannot imagine my S2 not powering on.

Been with me for almost two years now and the best phone I've ever had.
 
I did a software update on Saturday 7 Sept. I was on 4.0.2.

After the update of 404mb, I'm on 4.1.2, and it's supercool.

You basically get a new phone for free, as Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.4) & JellyBean (4.1.2) are worlds apart.

Enjoy your "new" phone! ;)

This is why I havent upgraded till now, people say Android is a resource hog and it maybe but the S2 has surpassed all my expectations and still feels powerful next to my SO's S4.

Just going from CM10.1 to 10.2 made such a difference.

All apps are fast on my S2, except for YouTube, which does take longer to start after the last two updates.

I just commented to a friend (who's got a S3), that I feel like I've go a new phone.

The screen even looks better.

I've been running the S2 on Battery saver mode for a few months which causes the change to be even more pronounced.

It also seems that the battery is lasting longer with Jelly Bean. I'm on 75% and unplugged 8h ago.
ICS would have had me at about 50% now.
 
I have a problem with my S2. Messed around with firm ware. Was running in ICS 4.0.3 and updated to JB 4.1.2. Did a factory reset and went back to ICS. Phone got messed up and downloaded Bootloader and ICS and flashed phone through ODIN. Phone runs, but is slow and often e-mail or apps will just shutdown and will show nessage on screen that says e-mail had to shut down. Phone freezes up sometimes also and then restarts. Tried to copy files from my pc to phone, then phone keep on restarting. Seems like when you put phone or processor under a bit of pressure it shuts down. Downloaded JB 4.1.2 and tried to flash phone, ODIN shows everything ok, but when phone restarts it shows Galaxy I9100 screen and then just goes off, it doesn't show the "S" animation.
Sure it can be fixed, think I'm just to stupid. Would appreciate the help

Are you able to boot in to Recovery?

Did you flash the correct firmware?

Download the correct ROM (for the i9100) here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ . Boot into Recovery, perform a factory reset and clear the cache. Turn off the device, then flash again via Odin, but turn off the reboot option. On the initial boot, first boot into Recovery mode, then perform the factory reset an clear the cache again, then reboot and test.

Also once you have finished flashing in Odin, pull the battery for a few seconds, put it back and then start up in recovery and do a factory reset then reboot.
 
Sweet phone is back up and running sorry lost my mind yesterday, just had like a billion sites open trying to resolve the problem making sure I got everything covered,

on a side note I was using odin 1.83 which for some reason was causing the bootloop problem most the websites I went to said to use this version, at least I think that is what caused my problem, so tried the newer version 3.07 and it worked first time. I am happy, even downgraded back 4.03 just for kicks,

I see why you guys got mad at its dead simple, I feel like a dunce at this point. I would like to blame the stress made my brain switch off.

Sorry we were so hard on you, just don't like seeing people suffer because of silly mistakes.

Glad you came right and once you've flashed once you at least now exactly how everything works (especially when you had issues that needed resolving).

Come back anytime if you want help again, just remember to read the instructions carefully :D
 
RTFM - read the funky manual, or web page with all the instructions, especially created for you! :D
