I got an update from sgpstore.com. They said that the transaction is in a pending state and I should wait 3-5 days for it to clear. If I don't come right, they said I need to send them my last 4 digits of my credit card and they will investigate. I'm just glad I at least got a response back. Having read through other forums on the net, it seemed as if you have to be really lucky to get any response out of them.

You don't have to pay anything in. The contract I'm taking is a business one. Costs R289 per month with no pay in, but then you get no airtime etc. Best to call them to ask.
I have been following this thread for a while since I also wanted to buy the SGS2. I ordered the phone on Tuesday and it was delivered the next day late afternoon. I am on a Vodacom Business call contract (R185) and had to pay in R2300 and at the time of ordering I dint have a monthly option just once off.
Still cant decide on a case, really interested in the SGP Neo hybrid but the only place I can find is http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160613891880 I emailed them and they said they have had problems delivering to South Africa and the best option would be to pay ($20) for shipping. Clove.co.uk is very expensive as well so im leaving out that store as well.
With the problems people have had with the official SGP store I don't feel that is a option either. Anyone that have ordered a case/screen protector care that has been delivered care to give a link.
Is there anyone who is going to be rooting their SGS2 and loading a custom ROM? The benefits are very attractive but don't know if voiding the warranty so early is a good idea. Check out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1081368

I haven't ordered yet either but I'm contemplating paying that $20 for shipping. Either way it is probably the same people doing the shipping, so the same problems you experience with shipping from the eBay seller will probably be experienced with the SGPStore as well. I'm just waiting for my paypal account to be linked (I forgot to do it
). I can't justify spending more on shipping than for the actual product, so If someone wants me to buy one from them as well, I will be more than willing to purchase it together with mine. Obviously you pay up front and must live in JHB. 
I just found this store http://www.obostore.com/nillkin-ultra-slim-hard-shield-faceplate-for-samsung-galaxy-s2-p-1004-c-124.html I read on other forums that the Nillkin cases are very good but my gripe about this case is that it doesn't have that soft silicone or w/e on the back like the SGP neo hybrid and this makes a slippery phone a phone with slippery protection but I guess it just something to get use to. $10 -> R70 is worth taking a chance on but I will drop them a email and require the same way I did with GUTkorea.
i just upgraded today. R339pm for anytime 200 package with 75MB data per month for the full 24 months. it's a truly awesome phone.
problem is MTN does not have it on their specials yet so you wont see it anywhere. you have to go into a store and have them check their stock - not their computer cause they generally just check their specials that way.
Mhh...not bad at all. Il check it out.

As far as i know the anytime 200 contract only comes with 10mb data a month

Are you going to install a Custom ROM if so which one? I'm contemplating rooting my phone and installing the Villain Custom ROM but voiding the warranty is my biggest concern. You can flash the original ROM without a problem but resetting the custom ROM gauge (This tells you how many times the phone has been flashed or w/e) is another matter.
