Flashed 3.3 I find its as stable as 3.2.7.2.

Awesome! I will flash in a couple mins time ...
Rumour has it that wi-fi is better ... have you tested that?

I flashed MIUI to check it out, but found that if I wanted an iPhone look on my phone, I would have bought an iPhone ... So my second rom will be CM9 again. Is there a way to turn the phone over to kill an incoming call? It's on stock like that, but I could not find a setting in CM9.

Nope, not yet. It's one of the features that they're working on here: http://opendesign.bbqdroid.org/

See my previous post - it looks like that by default, but you can easily change it. You need to give it a good look (under the hood, as it were) - but then, this is the joy of Android. Choose your poison, and love it for what it is. :)

Thanks JacquesR

Can anyone tell me if it is worth while to to get the official 2000mAh extended Samsung battery?

So the question is... Is 4 hours extra battery life per day worth R300 once off?
It probably is, but is the battery size the same? I've seen some extended batteries and it comes with its own cover which increases the thickness and weight of the phone.

It does come with a cover since the battery is physically bigger. Check this site for pics. It makes the phone as thick as the bottom bit where the speaker is. And yes, it comes with a new cover which is makes the camera slightly set back - so there is a bit of protection around it

R300. and am I correct in saying that if I normally got ave 18 hrs on the stock battery, that I would get ave 21% i.e. +- 22 hrs from this one?

Where from? I have a compatible case - something I was afraid I would have to replace (the Case-mate Tough - awesomeness!).

Order it from your service provider. Samsung in Vodaworld told me they don't have stock and that they won't be getting in any. They are now going to concentrate on the S3.

Vodacom4U told me they still order the batteries, but don't know when they will have stock.

I only discovered Kies Air today. /facepalm

It is actually brilliant to connect to your phone via your web browser.

Can definitely see myself using this a lot in the future. ;)

I find Airdroid slightly better...each to his own I guess :)

Anyone else on ICS experiencing this issue where contacts names aren't showing up in the messages list, unless the number is EXACTLY the same.
For example: if the number in my contacts is stored as 082 123 4567 and i receive an sms from +27 82 123 4567, no name shows up. On gingerbread this was never a problem :/

Kies Air is also able to work nicely on custom ROMs. I restored my copy from Titanium Backup, and it works perfectly, despite not having a single Samsung APK in sight!

I'm gonna see how it works on my PS3....although the PS3 has a crappy internet browser.

@linkinpark
most of my contacts on whatsapp have lost their names after the ICS update

I'm due for an upgrade in a few days and want to get an Android phone.

I would like to get the Galaxy S3, but it's too pricey and saw that Cell C has the S2 for R280/pm. The specs on this phone are still quite good, you think that I should get this device or is there something else in this price range that is better?

The Cell C package consists of the following:
Cellphone
100 anytime minutes
250MB data pm x 24

Your guys' thoughts?

EDIT: Budget is MAX R300/pm.
