A buddy of mine has seen the light and is looking for a new S2. Has anyone seen any cash deals out there worth looking at?
I see them at Orange for R4889.99 (in stock) they say.

It's because you should be using SwiftKey 3 or Swype, and not Samsung's sucky, crappy keyboard.

Was a long time SwiftKey user but after moving to JellyBean I actually prefer the stock keyboards swype gestures. I see SwiftKey is releasing their own Swype-like variation and the beta is already out - going to give it a shot (http://www.swiftkey.net/flow/).

That will just be crazy!! You have SwiftKey 3, with Swype built-in?

The original S2 might be in demand now, as the "new" S2 Plus that's being released now, is actually worse than the original.

Your best bet might be to ask around for friends and colleagues who have upgraded to the Note 2, etc. and ask if they're willing to sell their S2s.

Then get yourself the extended battery and Jelly Bean 4.1.2, and you have a fantastic phone that can last you for years to come.

That's exactly what i have and i'm seriously considering getting a cheaper contract and keeping my phone for another two years!

Unless the S4 is redonkulous...

Been using my S2 with the official Spanish ROM for a few days now. So glad not to have the lock screen lag from the leaked ROM anymore

I have one issue though, on the stock keyboard when you hold down the full stop button (period button) to select other characters the box stays visible even once you have selected the character you want. I thought this was a bug with the leaked ROM but it is still happening on the official release. If it's supposed to be like that then It's really stupid and annoying.

Hey Doc - I agree with kingrob. I use Swiftkey 3 and it is really awesome!

As far as I have seen they are treating it as a separate product, I had to buy it twice, one for the phone and one for the Tab.

I'm also gonna move to a cheaper contract, really don't see the need to upgrade to a new phone.

The S2's size is perfect for me, so don't really want anything bigger.

Edit : And the S2's design still looks fantastic!! I love this phone.

The Excellular deal looks good, cos I thought 8ta still had stock, but it looks like it's all gone.

Get the white extended battery, then you don't need a case.

I've been using my phone without a case since I got the extended battery in December, no problems to report.

So I receive an sms today that my phoned had been delivered to the outlet where I dropped it. I get there after 5:30pm, the clerk checks the computer and goes off to the back. He comes back and says the phone is not there. I show him the sms, he takes it to the manager. He comes back 5 min later with the phone. They had placed it in the incorrect "pile".

I get home. They wiped my phone! When I handed the phone in the clerk said they would not do it as he put those instructions into the computer. I get home, test the camera and guess what. Autofocus still doesn't work.

These bloody jokers had my phone for more than a week and all they did was reload the OS.

This really pisses me off. MTN sucks.

Aren't you close to the Midrand area.
I handed my S2 in for a charging issues one Friday morning at 9:00, collected it again that same afternoon. Problem was fixed.
I used the Repair Centre in Richards drive, just off Allandale.
I am aware of another repair centre like this in Montague Gardens - Cape Town as well.
