Hey Guys
Really interested in getting this phone however I have a few questions
1.How often do Samsung change their flagship models? i.e The Galaxy range
Is it like Apple with a yearly predictable launch date?
2.Does this phone use a Normal sim or Micro?
3.How is the single handed use?
4.LTE version release date?
Coming from Blackberry and iPhone the main reason for the change is customization
Anyone know someone selling a second hand device on the cheap(4K) please pm me

1.) Often.... it sucks... since the first S3 was launched there has been 4 more variants
2.) Micro
3.) Not bad, general stuff is fine, calling texting, browsing is alright. Not everything is 100% comfy.
4.) No idea, as so many variants with no dates
I came from the iPhone 3g to 3gs to 4 to 4s and now this... no regrets!
You won't get a year, that's for sure. The S3 is pretty close to being the perfect phone, so if you get one now for a good price then don't worry about it. I've seen loads of people selling unopened or barely used S3's for not much more than R5k. At that price it's a complete steal. The S4 will likely arrive around May.

The S4 is rumoured to hit the market in April 2013.
The S3 is an exceptional phone, which will keep you happy for years to come, so you can't really make a mistake.
And the battery is removable, so if the battery life goes south in four years time, just whip it out and buy a new one.

LTE is only available in Johannesburg. Wide coverage won't possible until spectrum becomes available. Which probably won't be in the next year. So i don't think lte is a factor yet.
Samsung released the s3 alpha, which is like the s3.1
The only thing that's a concern really is 1gb ram. Some international variants and the US dual-core LTE versions have this.
Alternatively i would look at the new razrs or the new nexus (range?) coming end of this month.

I just received my S3. How do I cut the sim to fit?

You don't. You order a micro SIM.
You can cut it, mixed results. There are templates. Ask Google.

It's very easy to cut using a template. Just print out the template, tape the sim onto the paper after signing the cutting guides and cut. Hard to mess up. I've done a few now and they all work. Beats wasting R150+ on a sim swap.

Vodacom did a sim swap for me for nada when I got my S3 (never got the phone through them - just SIM).
MTN cut my SIM. Phone appeared to work fine, I was able to make calls and connect to my wifi no problems, but as soon as I was on the road I noticed I could not connect to the mobile data. Took it in and they tried repeatedly to change the settings to get it to work but the settings would not save. It was eventually discovered that the cut SIM was to blame. Bought a new micro SIM and no more problems.

My old sim is a 32k one. Will this make a difference? Should I rather just do a sim-swop and get 128k sim?
