But wouldn't it be safer to just take it back to stock anyway, just in case?

That is what I am going for, insurance is with Cellsure so not going to take any chances, now if i can just get the firmware to download that would be great

Do you not have a backup (nandroid) of original rom on phone? Can you not just restore with that? Thats what I plan to do when I sell mine.

A Nandroid stock restore won't reset the custom flash counter.

Yeah definitely. Any responsible person would at least. First you delete everything manually, then factory reset, then clear caches, then Triangle Away to reset custom firmware flash counter, then flash stock firmware, then unroot.

I think I am going back to v5.07 as I have had wifi issues with my work wifi from 5.08. It seems the wifi certificate installer is not working.

I downgraded to 5.0.8 again. 5.1.0 started acting up. Awesome ROM though. Can't imagine the S3 without it.

Thanks for telling me. When I want to sell it I don't think I will go through that hassle, I will just load restore to original. Hopefully buyer wouldn't care that I had rooted and flashed custom roms.

Not sure yet. Considering keeping the phone and getting a Galaxy 10.1 tablet on contract instead. But R1500 towards another monitor and picking up S5 is also tempting ...

anyone else having crappy battery life after update(4.3)?

I also noticed in my battery stats, it shows the GPS has been on all the time, yet if i check under my settings, multiple times, the GPS is definitely switched off.

Ideas?

Normally after a software update battery life is crap for a week, then it starts improving.

When I updated my Note 2 to 4.3, I experienced the same thing.

Just chill and give it some time.

Bit of a douche move if the phone is still under warranty.

I do but at that time it was Android 4.1.2, with CM being 4.4.2 I am worried something could go wrong (maybe being a bit paranoid) so will rather try the stock 4.3 and use Samsung Galaxy Toolkit to load and triangle away

Problem is with the non functional screen I am worried that I lose my ADB mode function/authorised "link" in Samsung Galaxy Toolkit

Not under warranty, even if it was I wouldn't sell it saying it had a warranty.

On a side note, how many of you have ever used warranty? I have never used it on any of my devices.

I have read somewhere that once you move to KitKat there are issues moving back down to JB but always assumed I could just restore my original ROM. I hope it all goes well for you and you get paid out.

It's not Kitkat, but actually from Android 4.3 onwards. The Samsung official ROM uses a new bootloader and also install Knox.

You won't be able to downgrade once you have 4.3 install, but there's always a way if you really want to. ;)
