Rep .You're welcomeFrom a Vodacom customer.
Any noticeable improvements?
Battery life etc?
After doing the OTA update I have noticed that battery life is noticeably shorter than before the update.
Before the update with low usage I would get about 40 hours on a single charge, while it now shows that my battery is expected to last about 32 hours.
Perhaps it needs a settling in period again.
I can't seem to find much difference between Nougat and Oreo.
The one noticeable difference was a notification that I now had "App Icon Badges" where I could choose to show them with a number, or without a number. Basically it shows the amount of notifications an app has waiting, or you can set it to just show a dot next to the app shortcut.
I suppose I will have to wait and see what creeps out and shows itself as being new with more hands-on time.

Do this:
Open Google Maps, and start navigation.... anywhere. Then press the home button to return back to your launcher... notice anything?
@Cavedog: This may seem silly but check in the port with a light if dirt got in. Happened to my fathers phone, took into samsung and they literally pulled out like fluff that got compacted into it and wasnt allowing it to fast charge as it wasnt fully seated.
That's clever, probably pointless unless you're walking though.
found it useful the other day when being a passenger in a car next to the driver and still wanted to use my phone![]()
That's a point, didn't think of that.
Ahhh damn this happened to me too months ago, this should have been the first thing we suggestedSeems this has actually worked. I can't believe I never saw this issue. Plugged it in now and it's fast charging again.... First time in over a month.

Okay so I had sort the same problem. The original cable from Samsung would slow charge, however, the aftermarket cable that I got from TA, charged at the normal rate.Seems this has actually worked. Just tied it with YouTube on Chrome. didn't work?but then again, there's always split screen
another thing, when you play full screen videos on chrome, and hit the home button, boom! same thing happens
I tested with a twitter videoJust tied it with YouTube on Chrome. didn't work?
Oh. Would have been cool if it worked with YouTube. I tried with both Chrome and YouTube app.I tested with a twitter video
This is what I did, with one of my older tablet, a Note 8.0.Talking about dust in ports - anyone have any experience with port plugs?
If any good - does anyone know where I can get in South Africa (that have physical stock on hand)? Most places have to import first.
Take it to Samsung directSigh still under warranty but Vodacom will probably take ages and would probably need to explain it at the store......
Yeah looks like the port is broken. It's creating a short causing the type c connector to get hot when plugged into the charger and into my phone. The actual port and connector is getting very hot but not the phone it's still stuck on slow charging....
Plugging the phone into the pc with any cable even my micro b to type c adapter it's still shorting...
