As long as it's charging and not depleting why does it matter?

just signed up to ask my burning question.So Im about to flash my s8+ with a stock rom using odin, got my device from Telkom a year ago it currently has the XFA version firmware on.Looking around on Sammobile for firmware , i have noticed that XFE firmware recieves more regular updates.Now does anyone know the difference which one is unbranded XFA OR XFE? Will i still recieve OTA updates if I flash a XFE firmware? Is one locked to certain networks (Mtn or Cell C) ?
I have also seen some people suggesting to use BTU (UK) as u get faster updates.
Have looked around the web without a solid answer to the difference between these two firmware product codes.

Would greatly appreciate if someone could give any info.

I have an issue. I have 2 s8 with exact same firmware. One shows me hd voice and the other doesn't using the same simcard and same firmware.

Both phones have vodacom or cellc software? I know vodacom is XFV. Check if both of the service providers code is the same on both phones. If it is, then the one sim may not be provisioned for VoLTE.

Both have exact same firmware versions and numbers. XFV. I was testing with 1 simcard and not 2. 1 simcard switching between devices dialing the same number. 1 gives HD voice icon in the phone app when the call is active and other one does not.

Very weird. I tried poking around in settings but can't see anything actually.

Ok I thought when you said same sim card you meant same networks. But yeah then very weird. Also, dumb question but are you dialing the same number?

Found something. Under the Service provider SW Ver one is XFV/XFV/XFV and the other one is VD2/XFV/XFV

one is unbranded Vodacom software and the other one is branded Vodacom software.

The one with no branding is showing HD voice VD2 and the one with branding XFV does not show hd voice.

Some interesting test when I call the 2 phones both with Vodacom simcards in 1 shows hd voice while the other one does not. So it makes me believe that it is indeed using hd voice but not showing it.

Yes mine show HD voice when calling certain people who have VoLTe enabled. My phone also always shows VoLte icon on top. Or wifi calling icon if no VoLte available.
 
Hi can anyone please send me a Samsung pay *framework* APK? Anyone with a South African S7,S8 or S9.
 
This must be Project Treble's doing, we now have the August security patch and it was available about 10 days after the last update, I just forgot to install it when it came out.

I think this is the first time the phone has had the security patch of the month we're in.

I always thought Treble was a part of Oreo but I just read it's only phones that shipped with Oreo, if the phone was upgraded to it it's not a requirement for manufacturers to include the Treble partition.
