Woahhh, sorry I only checked on takealot. The actual RRP in South Africa is R12099.00.
It is a bigger difference.

Yeah, well I guess we will just have to deal with the "SMC" prices.
Oh, also have a look at iPhone... I bought the 7Plus when it launched... RRP was $869... converted today - R11 722.81........ I paid R17499 for it
and currently it's selling for R17699 (R200 MORE!) 6 months later... FML
LG dropped their prices soon after launch.

And why do you think think that is? LG is really struggling with market share in SA, they need to do this to gain...
Cellsure (Vodacom) quoted me R189 for comprehensive (theft incl) and R75 for just accidental. It's based on price band, not make or model.
But Excess is applicable and throws the comparison off ..i think is about R500 for repair and 15% for replacement.

That's a bummer. Everything is overkill here. This would be a nice standard for elite smartphone prices: (R6443.11, includes delivery) OnePlus 3T A3010 6GB RAM 128GB ROM Gunmetal.
What's your comparison between the 7+ and S8+?

The only thing i miss is Portrait mode in the camera
i have a short term policy.
My house, pool, car , all risk, phone etc is covered by it.
I normally specified my phones eg
S8 + for R17, 000 and just on phone
pay about R340 a month.
All in all i pay just over a "grand"
