if no doc/dex thing is part of the launch deal, then I dont want the phone. as simple as that.

the cool thing about the dex is the cooling fan.
playing pokemon go in sunlight really heats up a phone, so being able to put my phone into a point where I can cool it down easily is a real important thing for me.

it has gotten so bad that when we go out to play we take a big tub of ice water and zip lock bags.
after about 20 minutes, we put the G4's in the ziplock bags, and put them in the ice water for 5 min to cool them down.
this increases battery life by about an hour...

The dex is cool, but I don't see myself using it.

Have you tried playing Pokemon Go on the S7edge? And see how it compares with your G4?

I have friends with the s7, not the edge. And the battery lasts about the same amount of time. The heating problem is a bug in the current build and all phones get it

I really don't see the issue... and probably will only see it when I try it myself.

I went from a S7edge front facing fingerprint to V20 back fingerprint... a shift in how you use your phone. I see going through the same process for the S8.

It feels like people are complaining just for the sake of "oh, something that's different, i don't like different" people don't like change... and that's a fact... but adapt and move on.

What happened to all the talk about no 3.5mm jack!?

Glad Samsung chose not to remove it and on top of that added Bluetooth 5.0 :D best of both worlds here.

The issue is its close to the side of the camera.. not below like other phones.. so you end up smudging the camera lense most of the time while trying to locate it. Other phones having it below you instinctively know not to reach to the camera location, but lower for the reader

i understand that now, but let's see how it plays out for each personally... i think fingerprint will not be the primary method of unlocking the phone anymore.
 
I just think that its unfair that the rest of world gets it 21 april and every year its always been worldwide release. And mr Samsung south africa says the 5 May is good for us
 
Not aimed at Fanie, but he did bring it up

Rather funny how " oh it has Iris unlock, don't need fingerprint".. when Microsoft released it people went mad cause there no fingerprint reader and the iris scanner is a gimmick. Use mine daily and it unlocks fast and from much farther away.. even in the dark than at launch (software updates)

no dude... not iris scanning, facial recognition, two different things, but both are supported... along with a fingerprint :p
 
Yea but the face unlock is very dodgy as shown by the many S8 reviews.. can unlock with just a picture of the person
