Samsung rewards

I take it this app doesn't work on a rooted phone. I'm unable to install it on my rooted S3 although the device is on their compatibility list.

S3 is not on the list, S4 up is. I installed it on a friend's S3 but had to install the apk manually.
 
I am sure they can validate the imei before sending gifts.

They can, but they seem clueless. I'll know soon on my friend's S3 when he orders something and advice. The terms and conditions seems vague, ie Smartphone, just on the competitions they list specific devices, until recently the S6 edge +wasn't listed, the Note 5 is still not for competitions as per point 15.

That list is wrong, also depends on the android version.

Want to buy my SO a Samsung A5, but want to make sure it is compatible.
 
If the competition terms are anything to go by this is the list. Thanks to the tip above...

In the terms and conditions when downloading the app, there is no list of devices. Only that you must be 18, South African resident, allow access to imei number, contacts lists, be the primary user of the device, have a valid phone number not alter the software etc etc. They make mention there is a restriction on competitions or burn items that will be mentioned. (So technically any device)

On their site, all they say is available on some some premium devices (Vague)

Point 15 of the Note 5 competition lists devices S6, S6 edge, S5, S4, Note 4, Note edge, Note 3, Alpha, S4 mini, S4 active, A3, A5, A7, Trend Neo, Core 2, Core Prime, S5 mini, S6 Edge plus, J1, J5, J7,

The above applies to the Competition only, Note 5 is not even listed.

Why I say, they don't really know what they are doing. Terms and conditions, it's any device. Competitions, there is another list.
