SARS E-Filing 2019/20

Yip same here. Made it their problem to sort out...

How did you manage that? Reopened mine to add personal medical expenses, now it says I have a 2nd TFI (I don't) and won't allow me to submit without the details of the 2nd investment. Sat on the phone with an agent, who gave up after 10min and just stopped responding. I hung up the call 15min later.

Wow. That is really quick.

I got letter for them asking for the retirement annuity amount I paid. Also around the R450 mark. I immediately sent the certificate from Liberty and I still haven't heard anything. That was Friday. You've hit a luck!

Just out of curiosity, what is your status after the audit was complete?

Thanks
It was really quick.

Wow. That is pretty insane. Never seen that before.

I've requested a call back. I'm definitely not hanging on for ages.

I wonder if it was because they could just check yours and decide whether or not it's acceptable, whereas with mine, they have to verify that the document is legit from a proper place? That could possibly take a bit more time to verify?

Any which way, I'm hoping for clarification.

On a side note, my last years tax return went through, and then in October they wanted my logbook, which I unfortunately didn't have as I had been retrenched and my logbook was on my work laptop which was wiped. They eventually, this year, sent a completion letter, but it still shows the 2nd assessment as open and not filed on my returns. Do you think that 2nd assessment needs to be submitted? Even though nothing has changed? Perhaps that's what's holding mine back? I don't want to click submit and it causes chaos.

My Allan Gray TFI contribution amount (source code 4219) does not reflect on eFiling, however the net return value (source code 4239) is correct.

Not able to edit the amount as it is greyed out.

Also not able to edit the tfsa fields.
How do we fix this ?

I'm with EE

Meh, I get audited every year. It's not even surprising any more. Probably due to my business travel claims.
same here...been selected for audit and i submitted my supporting documents on the 29th July no movement nothing...last year it took exactly 21 working days...so i will recheck after 21 working days.

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum. I have seen loads of emails about Personal tax submissions. I am a Tax Practitioner. If anyone needs me to submit on your behalf please let me know. Contact me on [email protected]. Thanks

I got a call back from SARS. The woman was proper rude. I wasn't at my laptop, so she refused to look into my other question I had. She just barked that I must wait the 21 days for verification after me asking why is it that there are other people who's verification took less than an hour for the same thing as mine?

They gave me the option to rate the call, which I opted for, but it never allowed me to. Pity, it was going to be a goody.

Had similar issue with them. Filed early last week and still waiting for my refund. Finally a woman called and said I will only get my refund AFTER 1 September as only people who got the auto assesment SMS will get their refunds sooner. I thought that was weird.

What does SARS consider a period? Months? Days? I was unemployed for 10 months of the last tax year but SARS has given this question: For how many unbroken Period(s) were you unemployed? which is completely unclear and Google and the SARS website aren't helping.

Okay. So I figured it out myself.

In the setup wizard, it asks for how many periods were you unemployed for. So here they are asking, basically, was the unemployment period broken? So was it 10 months consecutive? If so, then you put in 1. If you were unemployed, hired, then unemployed again in the same tax year, then it's 2. Basically how many "periods" were you unemployed for.

What will happen is that at the bottom of the return, it will populate the dates you need to put in for when you were unemployed. I hope this makes sense.

Thank you! No wonder the cell kept telling me I was entering invalid numbers when I entered the figures in days and months :X3:

Hi guys. I am new here and loving this robust forum. I am trying to file my taxes. All my info is there, but when i hit calculate it is giving me:

4482 - IRP5 L/S AMOUNT MISSING

Please help :( I did change jobs last November (that IRP5 is there).
Hi

Did you get a reply, im having the same issue

I called SARS, it is no longer 21 working days, but 30 working for verification, and if your verification moves to Audit, it is no longer 90 working days but 120 working days...hopefully all can be sorted out on or before 30 working days :(

I have the same issue. If its not sorted when I'm ready to submit, I will just put zero values.
