SARS E-Filing 2019 OPEN!

There must be issues at SARS relating to verifications and audits. I bet on my breath

Why ?

They have 21 working days to complete verifications, the debt and rigor of the verification process for each taxpayer is different, which is why someone with a complex tax calculation might be "verified" in less time that someone with a straight forward tax calculation. There are different audit teams at SARS, each working at their own pace. Once the auditor is done with the verification is goes to a senior for review and signoff, he/she might send it back, all leading to more time.

You cannot compare the timelines between different taxpayers, there are too many variables

Did they do a verification ?

You did not say if the interest included by SARS is more than what was on the bank IT3(b) or less ?

Most likely the information that they received from 3rd parties included other interest as well (did you perhaps earn interest on your savings account in you medical aid (if you have one), do you have minor children with their own bank accounts, interest on these accounts will (should) be taxable in your hands.

There can be lost of other reasons, including that SARS made a mistake. If the difference is big you will need to log a dispute to understand why. Pretty easy to do this with efiling
Yes, the amount changed after verification.

They’ve added R66k to my local interest even though I’ve attached all IT3(b) forms from my bank.

PAYE, retirement and medical were unaffected.

Ps. I’ve already submitted a request for reasons.

I have a trust account registered in my name. Last year they added interest on that account to my personal assessment. I had to send through a resolution the trustees took to use that account as the trust account to have them update the assessment

My income sources are straightforward and easy to verify.
I'm curious to know were the additional income comes from.

Filed the 1st, logged in again yesterday, cannot find anything they want, they seems happy, nothing paid back yet.
Maybe there system slipped a tooth, 1jul 20119 jumped to 2020, or just missing from the paytrain.

I also filed on the 1st July and was not selected for verification or audit but am still waiting for my refund. SoA gives no indication of when my account will be settled, so I wait...

Does your SoA show refund then refund reversal? Mine shows that and Im not too sure if there is anything I must do to get it sorted out

Still no credit for me.. Submitted last Monday.. Got a message saying everything was submitted successfully.. Anyone else having this problem.. Those that submitted last Monday?

Mine shows the same

Anybody?

Mine has been updated since I last checked. I filed on 02/07, the refund and refund reversal showed 04/07. Today my SoA shows refund with tomorrows date (09/07) and the amount.

I'm hoping that means its processed and I'll see the money in my account by tomorrow. If not I'll give them a call on Thursday which will be after 7 business days

Still nothing received as of yet, SOA still shows no date of refund and I filed on the 1st of July with no audit nor verification, guess ill give them a call to find out whats the delay.

Just phoned them.. There is no refund date showing.. I must phone in on Wed again once the 7 working days are up:(

My SoA doesn't show that at all, it shows my refund amount and has a transaction date of 01/08/2019.

Mine was the same, checked this morning and it now reflects refund scheduled for tomorrow. So your new mods will be purchased soon I hope.
