SARS E-Filing 2020/21

Nearly two months now. SARS working from home.
Shame to you SARS. Does this mean wait another 21 Day's or more.
Received today urgent wtf SARS my inbox is full with all the rubbish e-mail received.
They want to Fu??ck over a pensioner.
Getting the same each weekend

I’ve been receiving it since last month. I wonder if it’s worthwhile to make a call, I do recall waiting 2 hours once to get info
I am in the same boat.
I spent 1h40 on hold on the phone, eventually spoke to a nice lady who confirmed the 21 days has lapsed and it shall now be escalated. Not holding my breath, its the ANC we're dealing with after all but this is hopefully the last time

There is no such thing as escalating, lodge a complaint.

For people who have to make a provisional payment, how long did it take to reflect the amount paid? I used the correct reference number and paid to the public recipient, but I'm yet to receive any "Payment" confirmed type of notification. My statement of account shows R0 owed, but my account balance section under my profile dashboard page shows the amount still owing and a "Pay Now" in red. I paid yesterday morning. Will SARS only process payments today or tomorrow?

Effing SARS!!! Did my returns beginning of July. 21 days later no refund received so I call them. After being on the phone for 2 hours I get to speak to someone and they said there is a stopper on it and I need to go on their website and make an appointment for 'Remove of special stopper/update banking details'.

Fine, make the appointment for 10 August (a week later). They call me, update my banking details and I explicitly asked the person on the other side if all is now good and will I get my refund. Her answer, yes, all is good and I will get my refund within 21 days but probably sooner.

Lo and behold, today is 21 days later and I have still not received my refund. Call them up again and get told that the appointment for the 10th of August was just for updating the bank details. I have to make a new appointment for removing the stopper that is on the account even though the initial appoint was for both!!! The appointment says 'REMOVAL OF SPECIAL STOPPER/update banking details'. Even told the guy the rep back then told me EVERYTHING IS FINE and I will get my refund but the guy just kept ignoring me and kept repeating 'You need to make a new appointment.'

Now I have to wait until 9 September to get a new appointment for the same thing: Removal of special stopper/update bank details!!!!!

Go to payment history and verify that the payment was approved.

It usually takes a day for the dashboard to be updated.

(It is advised to use the pay option on your IRP6 page)

Agree, only after speaking with three Sars consultants on different days (total wait time of 3 hours plus) did my refund process actually start making progress.

Yay, after being selected for audit, money is finally in. Submitted on the 5th of August, uploaded all my docs, got selected, waited, got an sms every Sunday to the tune of "you're still being audited".

Last Saturday, got a completion letter, Sunday the audit sms came again, money in my account this morning

I had the same problem, submitted the docs on the 10th of August but one was missing. We completed with the guy on the 11th. But luckily the stopper was removed the same time. Then there was the 21 days again that I had to wait for the refund, which was supposed to lapse on the 8th of September but I hot my refund on the 31 of August

What did you claim and what did you get in the end?

All, some advice/help would be useful. Submitted my returns on first week July, got a verification request asking me to submit photos and floor plans for the WFH claim. Uploaded that and got no response. Three calls later I get a response saying that I need to re-upload everything. Did that around mid-August and haven't heard anything. Called them to no avail... do I just wait it out until 21 business days expires????

Just wait. Mine was finalised without changes after more than a month. It seems that they start the 21 day count again when you submit further documents. I was also asked to submit photos etc.

I submitted my better half’s tax in the first week of July! Got audited. Audited again. And this morning incoming payment! Wow! A very-very nice 5 digit figure!

Thanks Sars!

Received a call to submit a document with a summary of the expenses I’m claiming for WFH.

Spent the next several hours trying to get through to SARS to find out how I can submit the document with the requested information.

After walking through the desert I was guided to use the SARS website and was provided the case number to input.

I give up.

That is absolutely correct.
I found out that the useless tax practitioner I asked to assist me with this, failed to tell me that a letter was required from my employer. Based on information given in this thread I did my own inquiries and the moment I sent that document after getting it from HR... boom, the SARS official told me the audit starts now.

I am just gathering more evidence that the tax practitioner lied to me then I am sending him on his merry way. From now on I will do it all myself.
