Lol were you expecting it to get processed today? Ain't no crunch yet, no one is being expected to work weekends...yet. I gave them 16 and there is more where that came from. I understand the submission max is 21 files. (Compressing some of my PDFs resolved the problem where SARS couldn't recognize them).I filed my taxes. Selected for verification. Uploaded 19 documents, half thr pdfs not recognised. hoping for R16k refund. What a wasted Saturday.

You can claim every expense that gap paid, it's an insurance product you took out, doesn't negate the cost incurred and it still wasn't paid by medical aid.Had a seamless experience with SARS e-filling now. Getting a bigger refund than expected.
We had a crap tonne of out of pocket medical expenses last year that was not covered by Gap cover and most of these appear on the tax certificate as they were all put through the medical aid. Now I understand why the doctors kept on doing that even though I told them we pay cash (will leave the BS of medical savings for another thread).
When was the deadline for companies to upload our tax info to SARS?
My income tax info has not been populated on efiling yet and I haven't received a copy of my IRP5 yet. I have sent 2 requests to HR already in the last week, and no response yet
All other info has been populated correctly, its the first time my income tax is not populated and is holding up the process.

Its not indemnified. You have had to pay for that expense out of your own pocket. It was not covered by medical aid which gives tax releif. It was covered by a personal short term insurance product for which you paid the full tax burden already.This is not true. You cannot be indemnified twice.
3. All other persons who do not qualify in the two categories above, may claim the following AMTC:

The medical credits? Sure it's not already being done? Also keep in mind, companies are not obliged to do so if you have "private" medical aid. Also, with current gap caps, medical deductions to be able to count have to be very very large. It's not like prior where one got the benefit from cent one.
That is also why gap pays YOU, it does not pay the medical practitioners or institutions directly.
