AS327688 (hop 6) is registered to Screamer, while AS22750 (hop 7) is registered to BCSNet.

I'll just use my Afrihost account tonight, get my quick fix on COD-MW2. Go knife some bugger in the back... Freakin best R29 ever spent!
 
Yea, pretty crappy the last few evenings. Totally unable to browse, entire connection constantly times out and dies. It looks promising when you re-initialise everything, and then it just dies. Almost like i'm being shaped to death.

Account seems to have been up the entire night. Only averaging 14 - 25Kb/s download from newshosting. (used to get 42k last month). Browsing seems to be doing well though. Could actually stream a clip from youtube without any buffering last night. (after 12).

Howzit are you guys perhaps throttling the news sites? I know in your previous post you said you did not, but this certainly seems to me as some kind of throttling is going on. Neil also promised to get to the bottom of this issue, but havent heard back from him after the first call he made to me on Friday? An update would be appreciated.....
 
I am wondering about the shaping thing too. @mrafiq1 is also correct on the feedback, its not good enough yet. I still have not received an answer to why my 512 line is running no faster than a 384. And why are the latencies so unstable all over the place? Also what is happening with the public IP story now?

Howzit, your last update post on page 1 of this thread was 14 Jan, thats almost a month now....

I won't be surprised is this whole thing is connected to their wireless network, and when a tower goes down, so does the entire network (much like ol' Sentech)
 
Well when i got up this morning everything was still fine. Left home at 6 30 and when i get home i'm HOPING it's still cruising.
 
This morning, before about 9:30, my connection was fine. After that is slowed to a crawl. Had to switch to another provider... again! *sigh*

Screamer is having an issue with the physical link between Data Centre to Seacom, Speeds are being affected and Technicians are working on it. Upgraded fibre has been ordered with installation expectancy for 2nd week of March (Telkom the SP)

So what does that mean? We're gonna have crap speeds and unstable connections until 2nd week of march? Screamer seems to be "upgrading" every week and we never actually get any results out of it, everytime it's the excuse as to why things go down.

I'd really just like a stable connection, in fact i don't care if i get 42 KB/s , if get a solid 30 KB/s i'll be happy. Constantly telling me "after yet another upgrade everything will be better" is not what i want to hear, because evidence shows the more Screamer upgrade the worse it gets...

I agree. This is BS. Where is Howzit? Did he do a Cambodia Dave on us? ;-) This is becoming another DC. Please, sort this out. Everytime Screamer has done an upgrade something bad happens. When are we getting the public IP's. Last week, Howzit said we are a week away.
Just give us proper feedback, that is all we ask......
 
Hi, yes new to the forum. We are working on the link and unfortunately it has been up and down. we hope to have it sorted out soon. The IP's have been broadcasted and we hope to have them operational by the weekend, just waiting for two ISP's to acknowledge them.
 
so when are we going to be able to use Screamer at all again??? This weekend??? If that is the case then please supply me with a means to connect somewhere else at your cost.
