Screamer WiMax

Anyone using them, I heard they experienced a lot of downtime recently?
 
Not for me I am still getting crazy disconnects on Ventrillo and WoW :(. Its happening avery 5 min.
 
Thought this was a server upgrade???

... and now they blaming my ventrillo and wow server .....
... when this doesnt happen on 3G and iBurst.....

I haven't been monitoring in detail (and I am still running the TCP filter) but so far things are looking excellent - second night without a disconnect and latencies are really good.
 
I still dont know how to apply tcp filter on my windows or mcafee firewall there is no option to block tcp rst.
 
would the Screamer Wifi or Wimax be a good option to change over from Iburst ??
ant get a Telkom adsl line locally so thinking since my Telkom line doesnt get used much and i am paying rental i can kill 2 birds with 1 stone and cancell my Iburst as well.
Just need to know if there is coverage in Morningside, Durban and if it will be worthwhile.

Disable Windows and McAfee firewalls and install the fix that I described earlier :)

Alternatively there are some firewalls that allow it filters to be set - I plan to try them out as I need one for Windows 7 and the wipfw only works on XP.
 
that would be great to know.
i got Windows 7 and at the moment only firewall i got going is on my router.
and it appears to be a very basic one at that.

Loving my Screamer WiMax,... great latencies,.. great speed (384k uncapped account).

My experience with Screamer has been worse than that of Telkoms.
Huge latencies, massive amounts of packet loss, bad service, and way to much downtime on my side.

Sent 4 emails to support almost a week ago containing ping graphs and possible solutions without anybody getting back to me and today I can't even get hold of someone in the call centre.
 
Having lag spikes every few seconds today. Unplayable today , too bad the guy at tech support doesn't really understand what im trying to say.

Seeing the same - 10% packet loss resulting in high latency :(

Problem is upstream or at the boundary between the networks.

Hi Guys

We had a problem with one of our major routers but it has since been replaced. If you are still getting disconnects please PM me so I can check on the fine tuning.
