ShowMax video and sound problems

Hmm, strangely mine is doing the same now. Was still working yesterday :mad:

Going to do a firmware update just now (over 800meg) and see if it helps.

Quality is fine for me. I'd say a bit better than 480p. The sync issue has been a lot better recently. But I did play around with the audio delay on the TV and got it almost perfect.
 
Keeping my Uno & Netflix, will not give them a chance at my money
 
These problems are not small. Naspers remains out of touch with customer expectations.

Do you have a source for that? Not having a Next Gen console like the PS4 on the internet is a significantly reduced experience. A lot of games simply don't work when it's not connected. I'd wager by far the majority of consoles are connected. I don't have a source other than knowing how much doesn't work when my internet is down.
 
Why would unotelly affect Showmax streaming? I thought Unotelly only redirects services it supports, where do other queries go? To Google DNS? How does that then end up in Germany and not USA?

One day when there is a Roku app I will test this and hopefully all the issues will be resolved.

With previous gen consoles maybe... There's hardly any point owning an XB1 or PS4 with no internet connection
 
I have reported to Vox and showmax, apparently vox having issues. they are working on it
 
Anyone know if I can get the ShowMax app downloaded/installed on my Samsung bluray player when I have set the region to UK? I did this to get BBC iPlayer to download (Netflix, Hulu, etc.). I believe if I set it back to South Africa the UK apps will be deleted?
 
I asked Showmax about my D series Samsung I purchased in 2013, can't get the app. Think it's E, F & later series. I run it through my PC, and it works. But it's slow & jerky on a 4MBS ADSL connection.

Mine came pre-installed with showmax.. or maybe it just installed automatically. (late 2014 model)

Only movies are jerky, the series are very good quality.

Then you need more friends.

You don't need internet to have friends over for a game of Fifa or to play Uncharted campaign. Just by you being here on the forum you're a minority. Your perspective, and this forum's bubble is that online multiplayer is a necessity. While in actual fact it isn't.
 
Hi, i know this is late, they told be not use their dns servers, but to manually add Googles DNS server 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
Havent tested again with Vox servers but works fine when i use these.
 
Used showmax for the first time today, my daugter wanted to watch stardust. In the beginning the quality was good, then it stared to degrade that is was not fun to watch anymore, constantly blocky and that on a 20 VDSL line. We'll try it again see if there is improvement. When I did a speed test the line ran at almost 100%
 
On IOS10 iPhone or iPad and AppleTV4 IOS10, if i download a show onto my devices and try airplay to apple tv all i get is the sound coming through?

If I stream the show then connect to airplay it works, only offline video that doesnt work.
