Checked my signal strength with ginggs's MDMA tool, just wondering what this means practically? Doesn't seem too great, -93dbm with a long usb cable and -101 without.

On the Voda speed test I got 353kpbs down, 256kbps up. Running it again I got 316 up, 206 down so not exactly fast. That's with an E220.

An increase of 8dBm is pretty good, for every 3dBm increase you have doubled your signal strength, so -93dBm is 6.3 times stronger than -101dBm.

See wikipedia dBm article.

Thanks, and thanks for a great app btw. :) Still seem to be getting cell breathing with -93dBm though. Getting -67dBm with MTN so their tower must be a lot closer.
