The same thing happened with me. Eventually the TM rep on mybb helped me. Pm them

+1 Telkom Mobile rep called me in the morning after a pmed my details the day before and she was so friendly and helped me over the phone with no problem at all. Port went through that night.

Been to Telkom 3 times today to try to port. The sms they sent to verify my number takes 30 minutes or more to go through.

Apparently it needs to go through within 10 minutes or else it has expired by the time it arrives on my phone.

Spoke to 3 different consultants today and nobody seems to be able to help me port.

Shoyld I take this as a sign that it was not meant to be?

Can I have mine changed as well? I'm on normal TM prepaid and I can't change it on USSD.

You should be able to change it on a the *180# menu if you have the old 8ta black and white sim. If it doesn't which I also had a problem with with one of my extra sims then pm Telkom Mobile rep or try calling the customer care.

Could not change my 8ta or my mom's to Simsonke, so I ended up just buying new sims

Yeah not sure why only some sims are effected. I had a old 8ta sim and a old 8ta micro so and the micro sim was able to change to sim sonke but the older standard sim not....

So I just got an SMS on my sim sonke sim card saying that national roaming (via MTN) is now enabled

Which officially makes Sim Sonke on Telkom Mobile the cheapest prepaid plan.

Calls to other at 75c
Calls in Telkom Mobile at 29c
SMS/MMS/MB 29c

Data bundles can be loaded as well.

The charges are the same when roaming on MTN. The 29c only for Telkom Mobile to Telkom Mobile so Telkom landlines unfortunately still 75c. I hope Telkom will correct this soon!

The charges are the same when roaming on MTN. You will still be charged 29 cents per minute on calls to Telkom Mobile numbers, 75 cents to other SA networks and landlines.
