Skyworth Binge Android TV box

DSTV Now working flawlessly on this box, no buffering unlike my browser.

Using casting to get Netflix to the box, seems to be running full HD (No 4K TV)

I just know that retail - especially the big guys - can move at glacial pace at times ;) So my *guess* would be that they've started the process of stocking / logistics already (if not very soon).

http://myskyworth.com/

Just at the bottom of this page 'coming soon' ... I think if it's advertised already, we'll see it shortly in those stores, regardless of whether Takealot want longer exclusivity .

Only a guess

Other retailers names have been removed :)

Only shows Takealot.com now. You must be a e-commerce whisperer

Loving the remote. Have it paired with my Nvidia Shield now :D This is what the Shield remote should have been like.

I seem to be experiencing an issue that when turning the device on, it will give me an Ethernet not connected error. Nothing wrong with the connection though. The issue requires that i need to plug the power cord out to reset the device. Didn't even help just unplugging the ethernet.

Could be a hardware issue, not communicating with the OS? Weirdest thing though is that when I go to settings i can see the IP it gets via dhcp. So it's connected but fails to recognize that there is an internet connection.

Try another port on your router and see if it makes a difference.
To take the router out of the equation you can use e.g. a laptop and then connect it to wifi. Then setup internet sharing on the wifi to the ethernet port of the laptop and then connect a cable between your laptop and android box. This is one way of knowing...

So i have a router which connects to a switch which distributes to ethernet ports and access points accross the house. I swopped my tv and the android box ethernet cables when this happened the first time as they were both at the tv. My access point and the tv was still connected and had interwebs but the android box just said no connection. So think I've ruled out the router port and cable and the switch for that matter.

Do like the laptop-wifi-internet sharing over ethernet hack though, might be helpful in a few cases to troubleshoot.

Yes I use it a lot to do troubleshooting or hookup a pc temporarily to the net to do updates if there is no ethernet cable and the pc has no wifi hardware. On windows it is pretty easy, just right click on the wifi connection --> properties then click the 'sharing' tab and enable it.

If you are still struggling try and make contact with their support team.

Hopefully they can assist and get you up and running asap.

Did get in contact with them thanks, their engineers are looking at it and trying to recreate the issue.

I am not able to cast from Google Home on my iPhone or my wifes Huawei P9 phone. Anyone has some advise for me?

There is a known bug with Chromecast. You can try clear the app and data for Chromecast Built in (under settings, Apps, wait for the apps to load then scroll down to the Chromecast Built in). This works only for a percentage of users. This is confirmed resolved in the early August update.

Anybody else's dstvnow app change.
I was told to go to a website and enter a code.
They say it's new app for android tv.

Don't like it much. Liked the old version better. Think dstv is sifting out all the other boxes out there
My friend has this box and can't get his app working. It didn't tell him to change and is now stuck......

It's pretty tiny, it's 105mmx105mmx25mm.

Yes, in my testing it outputs at 4k@60 and will do HDR. The HDR implementation is bit finicky though, it will switch into HDR mode but then not switch back when properly when you stop the HDR content (maybe a Plex bug but it works fine on the Shield so maybe not).

How about Netflix? Does it really not support Netflix? Doesn't seem to be a straight answer to to Netflix compatibility.
