Skyworth Binge Android TV box

Use es file explorer find file and install
I have already installed the apk files on the box, however I cant seem to find the apps that were installed from the apk files on the box. I only seem to be able to open the apps from the install screen after loading the apk files. On my other box once I installed the apk files on the skyworth box I cant seem to find the apps. I am just doing something wrong.

Would really like a Netflix app that works on this box!

So I have managed to install a working netflix apk but the apk is made for tablet. It does work on androidTV but there is no remote support whatsoever being a tablet app. Using an airmouse/wireless mouse obviously does work but this makes for a subpar experience. I am wondering if anyone here has managed to install a Netflix apk made for AndroidTV ?

Cant believe this is taking so long to get the official version on the box..come onthe skyworth..do whatever it takes!

Netflix are the ones that need to wake up, Skyworth's hands are tied. Skyworth want it even more, as they can sell a lot more boxes faster.

Oohh ok..thought the fault was on skyworth side..my bad..Netflix wake up!!!lol

You can install an alternative apk, but it is not an AndroidTV app - would appear to be the tablet app. And this works BUT your standard remote will not work with it, so you would need an airmouse or a regular wireless mouse to interact with the interface. Just google aptoid tv, however be aware that is an alternative app store (with annoying ads), at least they do have an approval process for apps and you get access to a MUCH larger app library just bear in mind to pay attention to avoid malware - generally what I do is read the user comments, consider the number of downloads-higher is better; and check for the authenticity approval sign next to the app before considering using it. That said, use at your own risk - it has worked for me but the UI is annoying.

Oh, sidenote, this little box aint half bad for casual gaming, the jackbox party pack series (if your prepared to pay R300+ for it), Orbia, real racing 3, the asphalt games, implosion etc. And if you have a gaming pc use steamlink. Obviously for some of these games you would need a bluetooth controller.

i dont worry to much about a certified android box as i dont use netflix or dstv at all

have all my movies and series i want to watch and i use 3 diff apk as each is a backup of others
and this is free

as for sport, well i have skysports and us sports channels with documentaries etc and that costs me about R400 for 3 months

not to bad

If you dont mind me asking what service are you using for your skysports channels and how is the quality? please can you PM thanks.

How is it the Skyworth Tv's have Netflix support, but the media box doesnt?
As far as I can see it runs Android TV as well.

Individual device models are each approved on their merits, running Android TV, or getting approval for one device, does not carry over to another, and not necessarily to a different version of Android TV OS, either.
