Skyworth Binge Android TV box

Replacement remote... anyonebody got any idea where to get it from?
Are is this lit box remote still the next best thing?

That one works on our box, pairing is OK and V- for reference. Hot keys (Youtube, Netflix, Playstore) don't. Voice seems to work reasonably also. We do not currently supply direct replacements.

Has anybody had issues with sound dropping out / stuttering when using pass through audio via HDMI? Suddenly started happening a few days ago. Thought it was Kodi acting up, but tested with other software (VLC) and it did the same thing. As soon as I disable passthru audio everything works.
@Skyworth Digital Support ?

Is this with the same content as before the issue? Try also with a different audio sink device if you have one. It is possible some Google update is causing an issue somewhere, but a good starting point is to eliminate other causes.

Passthrough is digital, and since PCM is fine, it seems like a sink problem rather than a source issue.

Thanks, I'll try that. Perhaps with headphones. Although then I can't test the HDMI of course. Still, process of elimination I guess.

It got stuck in the Google approval process. It was approved this morning. We will run a final check on DStv Now and Showmax on the certified build before we roll out deployment.

Sweet.. some binge loving coming our way. Does that mean next couple of days/weeks ? Also will this be a regular OTA updated?

The rollout is staggered so we can pull it if we start getting a lot of issues in field, although we haven't picked up any in testing, you can't be too careful. Google does not allow us to rollback without a fight.

The box will notify you of the update, and you can choose to install it. Should be within the next week or so, depending on your serial number. We're still setting that up. The update is optional.

Sadly no Netflix still.

Will it completely wipe the device or affect me if I'm currently logged into DSTV now/Showmax etc?
Most likely since Android 9 requires new partitions, so old ones have to be wiped.
But if it's the same OS, then ota updates usually can just update the existing system without wiping anything.

You should not lose any data in this update, but as always it's good practice to run a backup in the unlikely event you are storing data on the box. Our partition structure does change, but the user partition does not need to be overwritten, and on you should not see any settings changes as this is handled as part of the upgrade process.

Since the logins are stored on the data partition, they should not be lost, but we didn't actually check that specifically.

Yes the 4.16.3 version works fine most of the time but the kodi addon works even better
Are you able to get the Kodi add-on to play at anything greater than 540p? Nothing I do seems to work beyond this resolution, and I doubt it's a connection issue- I'm running 20Mb uncapped.
