Thanks, don't order often but will do it for the next one. Phoned the number (which Google shows as a DHL number) and the emailed me the required documents. R370 for DHL and customs for the 2 cameras. Should be here before Friday.

Anybody know what below image means.

It appears during live view on reolink phone app of only one camera. Upper right corner. My right . Other 2 x RLC810As dont have it.

Never seen it before and cannot trace it on reolink via my phone.

Reolink says its for motion but then again says previous icon was a siren.

1. Dont have a siren on rlc810A and
2. Old icon appeared until replaced in new app by the circle. So same event/issue.

Thought red walking was for motion? What appears for motion for others?

tbh haven't logged into the Reolink app in ages - run everything through BlueIris but yes i remember the running man for motion

It seems it is for motion in general. The old Person icon is for people and cars are a vehicle icon.

A question for the Blue Iris users. I have BI running with motion detection saving photos for the AItool and Deepstack to analyse. On successful detection the AItool sends a MQTT message that NodeRed picks up. I also use a Boolean to toggle if action is needed on the detection. This works pretty well in general.

What I have noticed is that certain days when there is a lot of activity outside it generates a lot of images that Deepstack needs to analyse. This is placing strain on the PC when it is not needed. I am looking for a solution to stop the process before it gets to Deepstack. Ideally I would like to toggle AItool on and off via MQTT or similar but I don't think this is possible?

The next idea is to toggle the profiles in BI via a MQTT message (which looks like it is possible in BI). I am not sure what you can set with the profiles but I would still like to record on motion detection but with no Deepstack analysis.

Has anybody done something like this or have any ideas?

I took a more detailed look at BI again and it is actually very good. I found the option I need. My current setup uses a boolean in NodeRed to decide if the detection message from Deepstack is used or not. Obviously this uses a lot of processing power when people are moving around outside and no detection is required.

So BI has profiles available. You can have them on a schedule or change them manually. I am using a MQTT command to switch between my 2 profiles (there are 8 available). So now instead of switching the boolean to toggle actioning the AItool message, I am just going to switch the profile of BI (you can also change the profile for certain cameras only).

On my second profile I am just changing the folder where the images are stored, since I would still like to see them if needed. The video recording carries on as normal. You can also choose to not save the images at all. There are a lot of settings you can change per profile. This way I still have all the motion detection images and video clips, but my PC will only process the images in Deepstack when I need it to.

Can one take existing poe network cable, add a splitter and connect another camera?

Or would it:
1. Be too little power for 2 x active POE cameras?
2. Cause confusion by both cameras ending in one cable and thus port on poe switch?
3. Would adding a poe splitter at POE switch side also be required?

Splitter at 2 x cameras and splitter at poe switch:

1. Poe switch
2. Patch cables in 2 x separate ports
3. Splitter combining them with cable to 2 x cameras
4. Splitter separating cable to 2 x cameras into
5. 2 x patch cables from splitter to each camera

Will the splitters be able to transmit enough power? From 2 x ports to 2 x cameras via one cable between the 2 x splitters?

Would below not work IF its 100mbps and not gbps devices? Thus wont work for my specific need but can be done?

Update:

Installed poe splitters from hdcabling and they work on 2x RLC410A 5mp reolink cameras. Plugged into a Gb poe switch but will plug them into one of my 100mbps poe switches. Really great as no need to have 2 x long cables. Reduces space if using conduits.

Other one connected to a RLC810A ready to add on RLC811A once I buy one. Hopefully they'll be on special soon.

Quick question. Why can't you buy hikvision 6mp cameras in South Africa ?

Not sure as I use Wyze and Reolink. My only Hikvision is an old 2mp analogue cctv.

Check with a reseller as there are quite a few?
