I maintain it's not the same as Hikvision, Uniview, heck even Xiaomi is 10-fold better quality.

RlC810A/510A etc,those are the popular Poe ones,how do they compare?Can you give details?

I love the RLC811A. 810A also good.

The 410As are fine depending on use.

But personally happy. The Argus 2 being wireless should only be an option if no POE available.

The reolink vs xyz debate is like

Mercedes vs Volkswagen debate. Price vs performance and value for money.

I am happy with my Reolinks, especially the 811A.

I run mine from my invertor,3kva 24v with 4 x12v 100ah lead acids(planning to upgrade to lithium in the near future hopefully) this also runs my router and some lights in the house(all LED).

Can last up to 8 hours but that would probably degrade battery too quickly since recommended to keep these dinosaur batteries above 50% so I don't stretch it for more than 4 hours max.

I have 11 reolink cameras.

1 wifi
8 in an 8 port poe switch and
2 in another separate poe switch.

I had 6 in the 8 port poe switch but after adding 2 cameras, only one of the 2 new ones worked. After resetting the one that was not connecting, it works but the other one that worked does not work.

They are connected via a poe splitter adapter as below.

I checked and infra red light of camera is on.

Also streamed video originally until I reset camera which was the same:
1. Infra red light was on
2. but could not connect to camera.

Now this one same problem. Maybe cable can't handle both but doubt it.

Only issue could be that 8 cameras on an 8 port poe switch too much?

Not sure how much the 8 cameras pulling but switch llimited to 120w with max of 30w per poe port.

For the 410s at least they state less than 10W per camera so I doubt it is a power issue. Can you check the IPs of the cameras on the reolink app or assign static IPs before putting them on the splitter?

IMO it is the bandwidth , i connected two 410s to my NVR and it bogged down the system ,the 410s run on H264 which is a bandwith hog on my NVR .
Disconnect one or two 410s randomly and see what happens .
Replaced the 410s with cams running H265 and all was good .

On a 100 Mbps switch maybe, but shouldn't be a problem on a Gigabit switch?

I linked them separately. Now no issues.


I used cables for splitter from Builders.

My speculation is that the quality of the cables maybe poor to act as single conduit between the splitters at each end?

So switch adequate BUT cable the limiting factor.

PS the Builders cable feels quite light in comparison to cables I normally purchase from cabling companies.
