Hi Guys,

Apologies if this is a duplicate of an already existing thread.

We have a client that has a Telkom Router with a Telkom SIM Card inside. They told him that he cannot have ADSL in the specific area.

Problem is, he needs a static IP in order for his IP Cameras to work properly through the application.

He only just took out the contract with Telkom and they are not going to let him off the hook.

Telkom told me they cannot assign a Static IP to this client because it is not an ADSL line.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Edit: The client currently has a Huawei B315 Router. Would replacing that with a netgear, tp link or d-link maybe work out better?

We tried that, every time we reboot the router the IP address changes but does not update on the dyndns account. Do you think that perhaps replacing the router will work?

What is the model number of the router?
Hauwei B315 under Settings - Security - DDNS. configure the add domain name no-ip service provider with usernames and password
connect to your www.Noip.com Hostname you created and it will update.

it's free and works 2min after router has been restart and got a new ip. works 100% been suing it since i got my Telkom router and sim.

Hi nemisiz, Thanks for the suggestion. For some reason this did not work for us.
