Hi guys

I would like to pick your brains on something about the Telkom line upgrades from 2013.

I currently have DoUncapped 1Mb line installed and it works (Most of the time):wtf:
So I have read many forms that say the 1Mb line upgrades have started in some parts of SA.
According to the e-mail Telkom sent me, 1Mb lines will only upgrade in Jan - Feb

When I do an ADSL check on the Telkom site it says 4Mb max and current service is 2Mb with the 2Mb red and underlined.

Does the red mean that it is still pending ???

Problem is that I do NOT have 2Mb line speed currently.
Will post a picture to show you what I mean.

Regards
Louis

Mine also displays in red (4 Mbps) so it does not mean that it is pending.

I had to phone Telkom and ask them to upgrade my line speed (profile?), but I don't have a Telkom DoUncapped account, so I'm not sure if your situation is different.

Telkom also shows mine to be 2Mb in red but when I check on the router it is still syncing at 1Mb. Perhaps the red means its pending.

This poses another question whether the router would automatically sync to the higher bandwidth once the switch has been made at the exchange. Presumably it has nothing to do with the ISP (mine is non-Telkom) so I will have to let them know ONCE I notice it has been updated.

My brother in law had a 2Mb line (Lives in Potchefstroom) and he was upgraded to a 4Mb without any hassles regarding the router. I think a port reset aught to do the trick IF the router doesn't detect the change. Then again Telkom is reluctant when it comes to port resetting.

Also my router also says syncing at 1Mb

Yeah, I've got the same thing. ADSL Checker page shows my current service speed at 2 Mbps. Router is syncing at 1 Mbps. Speed is 1 Mbps.
