Telkom FUP cap errors

How accurate is saix user stats, though? Isn't there some chance that there's certain local/international traffic or traffic over certain protocols/ports that it doesn't track?

That's what I'm hoping the good people at Mybroadband will investigate for us.

I just remembered my router keeps a daily usage log too. Could kick myself for not thinking about it earlier. Going to check out my router logs this afternoon when I'm home and compare it with saix and Telkom, will report back

Is it not maybe a simple case of not all traffic being routed over SAIX and therefore the SAIX portal wouldn't add up to the same?

I just looked at my sister's account. She's on a 4MB package. The telkom portal reports that on the 9th she done 45GB. According to my calculations, the maximum you can pull on a 4MB line is 38GB, and that's the line being maxed out over a full 24 hour period.

My usage on a10mb line

December:

Night surfer = 232Gb
Normal = 689Gb

January:

Update:

Via the telkom portal my usage for January is as follows.

Fixed Usage - 510.64GB
Night Surfer Fixed - 83.51GB
Total - 594,15

Via the Userstats portal my usage for January is as follows.

Combined Usage - 325.32GB

I have already hit FUP level 1 and it's irritating as hell as I've never used this much by the middle of the month in my entire online history. I'm normally around the 600GB mark and I have not downloaded anything excessive this month.

Interesting. And seeing as I'm on a 4mb uncapped package, I will reach FUP Level 1 after 10gb more of usage.
Such bullshit. Talk about thievery at it's finest.

Not to mention it being a 49gb difference between SAIX and Portal. wow

I used 99gb in one day last month, then 2gb the next two days. tracker seems to be messed

Well I checked last night what my router logs have to say. I just recently upgraded my router's firmware, so I only have the 16th to go by for comparison with saix and my router logs does not agree with saix. Seeing as the 16th only reflects on the Telkom logs today, I'll only be able to compare it with that tonight. With the information I have at hand right now, it's looking like saix user stats are inaccurate. I'll know for sure when I get home from work this afternoon.

EDIT: My router logs disagrees with both

October, November SAIX/Telkom Match roughly. December Telkom=1.3xSAIX. Funny we did not reach FUP1 in December so this calculation seems to be retroactive. January Telkom=1.5xSAIX. FUP1 reached now in the month.

I'm seeing this too on a friend's account:
Portal: 250 Gb
SAIX: 166 Gb

They're fupped and they're pissed...

Today Telkom=1.8xSAIX. The proportion is increasing on a daily basis. At this rate of increase, by Jan 2020 I'll hit FUP1 a few minutes into the new year.

I managed to use 42GB in one day on a 4M line. That's more than 24 hours of saturated traffic.
