If your line is with MWeb you will need to ask them to transfer it back to Telkom - usually not a hassle with Mweb (unlike some ISPs).

I've never been throttled or had a warning in respect of usage (or content) in over 2yrs with TI uncapped and did over 300GB on 4Mbs uncapped with no problems in February which was a bad month for some (check this thread from Feb onwards for my & others comments re the soft-capping experienced).

Please note that some MyBB members have expressed dissatisfaction with gaming on TI, as I'm not a gamer I can't comment but it's something to bear in mind.

Thanks for that MickZA, not an online gamer. I only pay R 539.00 to Mweb, pay a fortune to Telkom for the line :(
 
I initially tried to apply for the uncapped 4meg from Telkom but was told that I can't, I pay 600 bucks for the line and ADSL. Would applying again be an issue?
 
Its rather amusing, all those trolling last month with telkoms soft cap are sitting without internet... again.

From what you've said your line is already with Telkom in which case check you have following on your Telkom itemised billing:

DSL Fastest - R372.81

If that's there then you need to order TI DO Uncapped Premium - I normally use the Telkom Direct shops for ordering, the call centre can drive you nuts.

Edit: don't order it before April 1st otherwise you'll be billed for in full for March as well, Telkom don't do pro-rata.

Yep, R 372.81 :). So I shouldn't order via online, just go to the Telkom Direct shop and process?

And I already paid Mweb...damn. What's your monthly installment MickZA?

TI DO Uncapped Premium = R369 vat incl (and worth every cent, it really performs well).
 
At the moment (where I am) Telkom is doing a very bad job. During most off-peak times the ADSL connection is on. In peak times however, you often battle with loosing connection up to 7 times an hour (for a few minutes each time).

I am not the only person experiencing this. I really miss MWEB uncapped :(

That is probably Telkom line related and not Telkom ISP related.

Following the MWeb uncapped thread prior to the SEACOM outage it seems that the MWeb you long for no longer exists - and the natives are getting restless.

Log a fault as MickeyD says, highly unlikely the disconnects are ISP related - have you tested with another ISP account?
 
On another note I have used 345Gb so far on my 4Mbps and no softcap so to speak off. Happy with the account. Its performing very good actually
 
Damn my ADSL line/account is fk'd lately. Slow as hell.
 
Guys what is the total costs if I get 2mb uncapped?

2mb uncapped - R459
Line rental - ??
Installation costs - ??

Do I need to sign a contract for 12 months?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
