Ok, this morning I bit the bullet and after about an hour on the phone with Telkom I now
supposedly have a 1MB uncapped account (
[email protected]) in addition to my 16GB capped on a 4/10Mb line running at 6.0Mb.
I've been switching between the two (easy with a IPCop firewall) and my speeds are the same on both - 5.0Mbps down, 0.45Mbps up whereas my axxess 1Mb uncapped clocks at 0.98Mbps down, 0.39Mbps up. This could be because Telkom haven't ironed out all the glitches the new accounts seem to have created or they created the wrong uncapped account - premium as opposed to Do Uncapped Advanced.
Obviously I'm now concerned about my billing going forward so I've just spent some quality time on the phone with Evelyn at new services/billing who assures me that my existing billing remains unchanged and I will only be billed an additional R369 VAT incl (not R2097) at monthend failing which I can declare a dispute - MyBB is now witness to my endeavours in this regard
The only problem is I now have a product that I can't provide MyBB members feedback on until it performs as described :erm:
