Telkom Internet Uncapped User Feedback.

TI can fix their current crap, offer me an account at half of what other ISPs are charging or even offer free upgrades - there's no way I'm ever coming back for this bullsh*t again.

Could not agree more, as said previously, I will never ever have any Telkom product and or service in my household ever again. They are the most pathetic and incompetent company I have ever dealt with in my life. Have been giving them the benefit of the doubt for close on the past year now but seems I have wasted my time and money. Telkom only knows one direction.

I honestly hope they go tits up, the sooner the better.

How is Telkom so far back in the dark ages when it comes to customer service? How is it not possible to cancel a service online, or via email? I'd even settle for fax at this point! No, you need to call a call center with 500 customer service reps standing by to take new orders, and maybe 5 for any other query!

Spent 40 minutes on hold this morning trying to get through to someone to cancel this account. Finally got through - was mid way through when the customer service (I'm assuming accidentally) hung up on me. She already had my details at this point, but didn't bother calling me back. So at this point, I had no way of knowing if the cancellation was going through or not, no reference number, nothing. So of course, I have to call back. 50 minutes (!!) later, I get through again, and go through the whole. Literally 20 minutes just to cancel an uncapped account. After it was done and I got the reference number, I hung up in disgust. Over 2 hours of my morning, just to cancel a damn account - which other ISPs let you do online, with the click of a button.

You can cancel via email. [email protected]

Include a copy of your ID, the number you'd like to cancel and contact details.

Stress that you'd only like to cancel the data portion of your account.

That would've been good to know. You'd think they could advertise useful info like that while I'm on hold for 50 minutes to offload some of the stress on their call center, instead of bombarding me with useless crap.

That said, when I signed up for the account online originally (amazing how this is an option) nobody responded after 2 days, and when I called to check on the status, they had no record of it in their systems. Either way, I am glad to done with them.

Just cancelled my Telkom data package. Kept the ADSL line and voice line and took the Vox Gig4Gig with the Uncapped Bolt-On option. Will see how it works tonight.

I actually phoned to hear about the Do Discount and after being transferred between THREE dpts and holding for 40 minutes, I eventually got told "oh we don't offer that. Never heard of it, doesn't exist". At which point I lost my s*** entirely and told the consultant to go ahead and cancel my contract. I was then told that there is no way in hell I can do it before 30 days, so i've given 30 days' notice. Let's see if they got it right. I'm done.

Could someone please change the yellow smiley on the original post to something red and angry, there aint jack squat to be happy about.

Last night pages weren't even loading completely.... Useless considering I'm on 4mbps and usage is under 50gb this month....

*sigh* got a call from Telkom escalations.
1.) They will refund me only if no data was used since the 6th of Jan. They can't seem to grasp the difference between slow, and not working - I tried to explain this multiple times.
2.) I asked why the ISP account has not cancelled after 10 days, and the response was they'll log a cancellation request and get back to me.

I'm still waiting, and paying for a seldom working service.

And once again, not getting back to me....

Someone tell me if this is OK

That 2nd ping is high. Run multiple pings over an hour or so and it remains above 100 ask telkom to check your line - 10210

If that's the case, why not communicate this to customers? Why double everyone's speeds, turning TI into a mess because the network is not ready for that kind of load? Whatever it is, I'm fairly certain it means that we will never get the same service we were used to ever again.

You maybe correct with never getting the same service we used to

I was on a 4Mb uncapped and could reach 5mb on a good day
Now I'm told the max my line is syncing at is 3mbs and that there's nothing i can do about it..

I dunno I'm still unable to get more than 10Kbps
I'm afraid to show you my speed test results for fear of being mocked :) it's so embarrassing

I phoned to cancel the data portion. I am told, as i have 4 months left of my contract i have to pay R79 per month penalty. Good old telkom

Telkom tell you about the penalty of terminating your contract early. So you can't blame them for that.

Is there somewhere I can find my current level of shaping/throttling? SAIX userstats doesn't seem to show this.

Can anoyone give feedback on the Openweb Titan Uncapped 2mbps accounts' performance etc?

I signed up yesterday morning, half past 9 last night they sent me my login details.
Ive been downloading since then, couple of torrents and an origin game update.

Across the lot of them my average is 200KB, so, so far, im quite happy with it :-)
