Telkom promises better service

hehe I got my own Telkom techie in my pocket asswell :)
If i have a problem, phone him, pay R100 and he sorts out the problem asap.
When a techie comes aroun tell him you hate Telkoms service and can he help you when you have a problem for a fee.
works :)

I waited goodness knows how many weeks, was around six weeks I think, and finally they installed my line on a Sunday morning. The Telkom guy came to me afterwards and said he didn't even have authorisation to do what he just did..... shows you there are a few good people out there. Then you get the rest of Telkom.

I also have a tech I can call, but I don't want too abuse him such.

Today it is R100 tomorrow it is R1000.

You are not a hero; in fact you are part of the problem:mad:

How else are we supposed to get things done?

Someone people need adsl. Wireless doesn't suit everyone's needs.

I have also noticed some pretty reasonable service lately from Telkom. They seem to do things quick enough now. I do agree though, there is no reason why they can't operate a 24 hour call center.

Please do not bribe. Do not reward somebody to be corrupt. You just fueling a very bad culture.

Rather take your business to their competition.

I was joking. ;) That's exactly what I'm doing, getting HSDPA.

I suppose you will just have to wait in the queue like the rest off us. The Telkom techie who you bribed was suppose to do an installation for somebody who was in the queue but now has to wait one more day because of you:mad:

Bribing is NOT the answer.

Bribing is really not cool!

Bribing is just fueling crime in South Africa.

Be part of the solution, stop bribing!

The need to bribe to get efficient service is an indication of very bad management.

If Telkom was managed properly, service levels would have been so high that the thought of bribing a techie to get service would be considered lunacy.

I agree fully with you, but please let not use Telkom's very bad management to justify bribing.

Wasn't this supposed to be one of Papi's pillars of customer-centricity that they just rehashed?

Deja Moo: I've heard this bull before.

Great improvement in service, besides for the fact that I've had no phone/dsl since they stole the cable 3 months ago. Telkom dont want to repair it. How does that work? I can't have a fixed phone line in my house anymore? What ****ing bull****. Useless ****s.

I agree 100% This in fact spoils it for everyone.

The solution is that the company and its employees need to have pride in what they do. Bribes of any kind in all walks of life takes the opportunity away that the attitude is replaced by 'I do what I do because I have pride in what I do'.

Once again, this is complete and utter bollocks.
Why do they continue to prattle on about "improving their service" when they never actually do anything about it?
They can quote all the percentage improvements they want, 22% of 0 is still 0.
