Does anyone know the telkom helpline(10210) number you can call from a mobile?, as I want to call from the office where there's no telkom phones.

Thanks

When you call from a CELL C or Telkom Mobile sim it's free but don't try roaming on Vodacom with CELL C and doing that, it will charge you. Vodacom and MTN are making you pay for the call. I hope that helps! :)

They wont do it for me. They said if they put me on the profile now I will be charged more, whereas if I just wait it will be done automatically.

Only request a profile change when your adsl line checker reflects that you have been upgraded.

Started syncing at 4mb as of last night, no need to phone telkom on my side. Perhaps its because i upgraded to 2meg just before the upgrade?

Yay, I now have the problem I feared I might have.

The ADSL checker says Im on 4Mb now (was on 2Mb), but its broken my ADSL connection. Last night it was not syncing at all. This morning when I woke up I saw ADSL line and ISP connected... line only synced at 256Kbps, then I reset my router, synced at 412, and later on 387Kbps.

My stats changed from : (which it always was running at)
Speed 2048; Line Attenuation 53dB, Noise Ratio 11.9dB

to:
Speed 256; LA 64dB, Noise 6.9dB
Speed 412; LA 64dB, Noise 5.3dB
Speed 387; LA 63.5dB, Noise 5.1dB

So alot worse. :(

Where to now; how do I get this fixed ? Could TelkomZA help?

Having exactly the same issue. Give Telkom their full week to complete the upgrade and then complain.

Having exactly the same issue.called told to chill and give Telkom their full week to complete the upgrade before complaining.

I'm new here so don't caplock me if i make an error, I called telkom on Sunday and did a port reset but it didn't improve my speed to 4mbps so I called them yesterday and a lady was willing to assist me on my upgrade but she noticed that my exchange wasn't ready so she told me to hang on. She also did say that people that called in and got upgraded, their upgrade were going to get upgraded sooner , so I reckon whoever got upgraded should post their location so we'll know that the exchange in that location is actually ready and we can phone and bug them until we get our way :D
