Telkom strikes again

Sadly this is the devil we know all too well.
You'd be better off paying it and installing your own router then they will not be able to change things like wifi passwords and such. Always better to phone them and remember to leave trails of lipstick on the amount of ass one has to kiss and move on or move over to an ISP like Websquad or Levl 7 to handle the ftth line.

My elderly mother has recently migrated from Telkom copper fibre to a 40/10 FTTH package with them.
As an aside, if Openserve is the FNO (network operator), then I think you should also query the 10 Mbps upload speed, which should now be 20 Mbps.

"On its [Openserve's] main FTTH network, the new entry-level download and upload speeds will be 40Mbps and 20Mbps, respectively, up from 25Mbps and 10Mbps."

But possible she's with Frogfoot, which is now 40 / 10, up from 30 / 3 ?
.... though don't know if Telkom partner with FNOs other than Openserve ?

Yes, I did try to advise going with another (read: more competent) ISP, but elderly people can be stubborn.
It's not so much stubbornness as it is fear of not understanding the technology and hating change.

Seen it lots of times.
