got an email this morning to say i can upgrade from my current 4mb line to do premium which includes adsl up to 10mb
phoned the call centre only to be told i cant upgrade because my areas only supports 4mb.
whats the use of sending your clients emails to upgrade and then when we take you up on it we cant ???
Same this side – and then, wait for it, I did the unthinkable – I willingly gave Telkom my cell number...
Went along to their ADSL checker, to see if the same message I have received over the past 3 years [We cannot currently confirm what linespeed your exchange is capable of blah blah] would still be there when I typed in my landline number. It was.
So, left my details on the web-interface form-filler.
Included my cell number.
So far, 3 things have happened:
1.) My sms spam has taken off through the roof. Surprise, surprise.
2.) I received an automated sms 3 days ago, informing me that I would be contacted by a Telkom representative within 24 hours.
3.) I am still waiting.
Great promo idea. No idea what my line can handle. Telkom doesn't want my money.
