TelkomZA

This is my problem and this is the second time I am reporting the same fault. Telkom better fix it this time PROPERLY.

I DEMAND TO HAVE MY LINE MOVED TO A DIFFERENT PORT!~!!!!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

The line drops every 3-7 hours. Happens only if there's a heavy download on the go.
I have tested with OpenWeb (my ISP) we all agree the DSLAM is faulty.

I have just managed to reconnect now.. the speed is all over the place.
The S/N ratio and other figures are perfect!
* It is NOT the copper pair
* It is NOT my router
* It is either the stupid exchange or the DSLAM, can only be that!

The logical connection fails i.e. the ADSL REMAINS SYNCHED ALL THE TIME, NEVER DROPS! I have set my router to resynch the ADSL when this happens because otherwise it will sit like that forever!

is it possible to get connected to a different MSAN/DSLam?

99% of the time the answer will be no. They can sometimes move you to a different port, but not normally to a different DSLAM/MSAN entirely as it would most likely be in a different location.

Guys, are we talking to ourselves here or what? I have not seen TelkomZA responding to any post in this thread in over a month. Might be even longer???

Logged a fault with telkom 3 weeks ago. Nothing done and fault closed saying problem is fixed. Still have the problem as we speak lo.

I am being ignored by Telkom aswell.
I am getting sick of their crap now.
I think I am going to get LTE and stop paying the Telkom bill...

Just want to give a shout out to Charl and Gerard from TelkomZA for assisting me with my problem on the Bellville North Exchange (Congestion).

My speed problems were solved within two days :)

Shifting bottlenecks

My upgrade from 1 to 2 worked fine for about a month or two, now back to square-1.

Telkom is just shifting the bottlenecks from area to area as complaints grow, not really fixing the problems.
Should my account lower accordingly-?

Try 4 weeks :) also got a sms that it was fixed nothing was changed and telkomza ignores me flat and calls centres are clueless

I just want to publicly thank TelkomZA,

I was averaging 30KB/s download speeds on my 2MBps line. On weekends and after hours my Exchange was congested.

I asked TelkomZA to change my line to a different exchange. Two days later I was moved to a different exchange.

Now I average about 200KB/s on a 2MBps line and my ping has decreased too.

Thank you so much to TelkomZA for doing this, you've made me a very happy Telkom customer.

(Afrihost 100GB capped account, Telkom 2MBps line, Netgear DGN2200 router/modem)

Thanks Charl, you helped me many times and every time it was quick and efficient.

Does anyone know if Aasvoelkop is being upgraded from DSLAM to M..... (can't remember the word).

The Telkom technician who came to check our line speed said it will be done soon because there are so many problems in the area.

Hi, called telkom today to reset my port and the tech told me that the exchange is in the process of being upgraded, so 10mb will be available after and we could apply for 20/40 as well.

Exciting, I hope this is true!

True.
Dates are slipping, though.

Thanks again to TelkomZA for resolving my ADSL problem. We need more guys like him working there.
