TelkomZA

Hi, I organised for a 2mb Uncapped Data and line to be installed on tuesday the 29th April at my apartment.

I was told after the installation that the line leading from the Telkom box outside to my flat is faulty and needs to be replaced. They mentioned that their tall ladder was with someone else that day and 'will be back on another day' to fix. I phoned today and was told that the specific department will phone me when they will come sort it out.

I was hoping I'd get some indication on when they're planning on to come fix this, as I will need to organise with someone to be at my flat as they need to also finish making sure everything is activated inside.

My interaction with the Telkom rep was a positive one.
At least I know my line is perfect, which it is.

Same my line has been tested, port refreshed etc. No issues on the line or in the area

I just sent a PM now, don't tell me this dude isn't responding either.

I'm trying to get hold of Telkom to come re-attach the phone cables from the pole to my wall (after doing some renovations at my place)...who or what number do I call to get old of these people?

My line automatically synced itself from 6Mbps to 3Mbps last night - restarting the router does nothing. Guess I'll have to attempt to call Hellkom when I'm off night shift again.

How did you get Telkom to help you ? I have 9 fault reference numbers and 3 Escalations. I am soft capped at 1 GB of data, contract is 10 GB.

TelkomZA, Is it possible to extend my ADSL line to another room. I need to move my office in the house, and that includes my telephone (line) and adsl line. If possible how do I do it and what do I need. I do not want to get a technician out to the farm if I can do it myself. I do have a range extender but it doesn't seem to be working. :wtf:

I sent a PM, got no reply but when I tried to log a fault myself I get

"Unfortunately your request could not be completed. An email was sent to a call centre agent to either capture the fault on your behalf or to contact you with more information"

Maybe the ADSL infrastructure is crumbling so fast and they are just trying keep the ship afloat till they can get people switched over to the new MSANs

Paying for a 10MBS facility - getting half of that - does this not entitle me to a 50% rebate from Telkom?

No, read the T&Cs - up to 10Mbps.

Why not downgrade to 4Mbps?
