These 320d's continue being impressive, solid and reliable.

What kind of fuel economy have you had with it, what size is the engine?

It’s up for the Cvt oil change then, I wouldn’t leave it longer than you have, ideally do it every 60-80k km to be on the safe side.
around 6l per 100 km, my foot can get a bit heavy in some places LOL.

Noted on the CVT oil change.

The thing with the 1.9pd is only the good ones are still around, because there were a whole lot of shït ones too that crapped out well before their time.

This. You see lots of them online that have absurd mileage, but I reckon that this is probably only the top 5% of ones that you see.

All the others probably crapped out long before they made 250k km :coffee:

very interesting, I didnt know that. all I ever hear is how great the 1.9 tdi is

But there's nothing to sigh about, it's a glorious moment, instead of sighing you should be organizing a smallernyana something with close friends and family.
True that. Quite a few folks ask as its in good nick and doesn't look its age ( 16 years ) but its a great trouble free one.

Now yes - in the last 5 to 10 years.

But I recall how terrible these were not too long after they launched. Had a coworker whose Golf 4 shat itself completely thanks to PD failure.

Of course having the bias I do towards VAG won't change my view on the PD now that the cream of the crop is all that is left.

If the injector failures or crumbling harnesses didn't get you, then the rounding of the oil pump shaft or the constant leaking valve coves would.

Huh? I don't recall us ever getting the MkIV Golf or Jetta with a PD engine, they were all the VE engine.

Depends which one, the VE110 fitted to MkIV Golf/Jetta locally were generally bomb proof, the PD100 fitted to the MkIV Polo (9n and 9n3) were also generally OK, the PD130 fitted to MkIV Polo (9n and 9n3) had a few turbo issues although I never experienced it with my 9n.
