The 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup Thread

Best chance IMO is to take the pace off the ball, bring the field in a bit, and force them into playing shots.

Should maybe bowl more spin overs than pace...

I also wondered about this but not sure how much difference it would make against a side that has grown up on spin and can play it with their eyes closed. Shamzi is too inconsistent and Tahir, while good, is no longer an unknown entity with all his IPL experience. Will see though.

Well sh*t...

Since 2015 in England, only once has a chasing team lost in a run-chase of 300 or fewer - Afghanistan against Sri Lanka in Cardiff yesterday.

Wit this being their 1st game i reckon they will get off to a flyer and game over in 35ov..

I read in one of the build-up articles that in recent times, India have actually faltered to spin and been more successful against pace.

I just hope Faf got the memo...

Game on boys ! now please lord let or bowlers and fielders show up … I personally think Immy is going to be handful on this wicket - just depends how Faffie uses him

I still think that if you can get Kohli and to a lesser extent Sharma early, India could fold. They rely so heavily on those two. Of course, Dhoni still comes in and has this annoying habit of getting his team out of seemingly hopeless situations. If we can have them 100/4 with Kohli back in the hut, it's game on.

So me thinks they will be eager to get some runs on the board as they usually are. This leads to either mini collapse up front or domination. I guess it really depends on SA team's discipline to put pressure on them.. but their fielding last few games mean i don't see them containing which means bowlers will be hammered.

But thats me, i'm not a fan of Sa cricket, hell i havent really watched any sports a significant time since 2015? or earlier even so yea.. hopefully im wrong.
