The 2019 Weight Loss Thread

I nearly bought a Concept 2 in December. Some day.
The concept 2 is nice, all the videos I've seen use it. I sometimes feel the one we have is a bit short on the range movement, especially in the back pull, but it's working.

Hmm, I agree with first 2 points regarding types of food and calorie deficit, but 3rd one im not 100% sure is true as it sounds like spot reduction which from all my readings is a myth.

Agree. My understanding is that you have to lose fat all over your body, you can't target a particular area.

@Scary_Turtle - Kettlebell swings are a great exercise for fat burning and if you don't already, incorporating some HIIT workouts into your schedule. Regarding your Ab routine, do you include core exercises such as planks, leg raises, dead bugs, wipers etc? A lot of people these days seem to consider sit ups and crunches to be of limited effectiveness. Planks in particular are widely considered a core strength exercise that everyone should be aware of and incorporate into their fitness regime.

On the daily ab exercises I try do something like this
short and high impact but damn do you feel the burn. On core day I do exercises that get all muscles working together lifting from ground to sky, bupies etc.

From what I have read/watched plank is too easy but incorporating variations of plank like in the video you get much better results.

Monday weigh in 90.3

Pretty happy with that after a week of travelling around, hotels, flights and junk food at irregular times. Including a McDonald’s at Dubai airport at 2am :erm:

Ugh, sitting at 84.4 today. Seems like those damn Easter eggs are finally catching up with me.

Meh, up again. 85.8kg.

Excuses related to being the wife's birthday and our anniversary last week. Too much cake, too many restaurants and too much wine.

61.5 kg (+0,5kg)

Went to visit the parents at the coast this weekend. Didn't overeat, and did a 2h trek up the beach. Hoping that the sunburn and sore legs are just causing some water retention

On the plus side, their scale said I was 59 kg :D
