Saturday, at the Super Stadium.

Also, what a game last night.

The final squad is going to be announced at 9am today, and I'm actually not sure if Benni will make it. I doubt that he will be a starter, the team scored 12 goals in 4 games without him. He may stay in the squad as cover though. Parker and Mphela as our strikers.

Word reaching KICK OFF from the Bafana Bafana camp is that Benni McCarthy has been left out of the 2010 World Cup squad.

Carlos Alberto Parreira will only announce his squad later this morning, but our sources tell us the West Ham United striker has been omitted, as has right-back Bryce Moon.

Another surprise casualty is goalkeeper Rowen Fernandez, while Franklin Cale and Innocent Mdledle also miss out.

This coach is sticking to his guns by not selecting unfit players....
But I feel sorry for Brice Moon...I thought he did OK yesterday....
 
Rumour has it that Benni, Moon, Fernandez, Mdlele and Cale have been ommitted. Or am I spoiling the anticipation?:p

Benni can stay out. I don't care if he is our best goal poacher of all time. He isn't fit enough to play.

Otherwise I'd be pretty happy with the team that Carlos picks. Lets hope Booth makes the cut.

Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana coach Carlos Alberto Parreira has announced his final 23-man squad for the 2010 Soccer World Cup.

Striker Benni McCarthy and defender Bryce Moon were shock omissions from the June 11 - July 11 tournament.

Goalkeeper Rowen Fernandez, defender Innocent Mdledle and midfielder Franklin Cale were the other three players cut from the 28-man squad.

Bafana begin their 2010 campaign on Friday, June 11 against Mexico at Soccer City in Johannesburg. Kick-off is at 16:00.

Bafana's other two Group A matches are against Uruguay at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Wednesday, June 16 at 20:30 and France at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on Tuesday, June 22 at 16:00.

Looks to be a good side to compete in the world cup. The game against Denmark is crucial for us to see how we compete with higher ranked teams...
 
Anyone hear Carlos Alberto's comments on RSA vs Bulgaria and how good the Bulgarians were that they missed WC qualification by 1 point?
It was actually 11 points lol.
 
I suppose Bryce Moon's court cases have really disturbed him. And I'm not sure if he was palying regularly at his team. So we have 1 natural striker (Mphela) because Parker plays behind the strikers and Nomvete prefers to play on the left wing. morir can still play as a striker as well.

We will be playing 4-5-1 formation with two midfield palyers going more forward.

Happy for old man Nomvete. That guy can still run at his age, compared to the young boys there.
