Went and pulled a muscle in my upper leg yesterday kicking ball with my family...awesome. Had to ref the touch rugby yesterday :) Now just hoping its better for Friday's leg sessions!

Really can't just get up and run or kick as I want to anymore...pffff...

Yeah you will find, it is not at the gym that you hurt and kill yourself. It is outside the gym after your muscles are tired out. I hurt myself 2 times doing DIY at home. Learned now, the hard way, to be safe in the gym while exercising, and to be super safe outside the gym when I do anything else. Not scared, but I prefer not being disabled on a temporary basis either.

Did my first session after 3+ weeks rest, no more pains in joints.
I'm weary to start any form of benching now that my shoulder has healed up.

Just did session of biceps and triceps, today will squat so getting out of bed the next few days might hurt a bit.
BUT it feels good to be back I tell you :p

not constantly hurting ≠ healed. start benchpressing again and find out for yourself...

I will prob need to go for a shoulder op soon...been battling for a long time now and its not getting better. Started doing more free weights this week and when I was bench pressing I could see by rep 8 my right arm was behind, and of course shoulder exercises are not fun!

I had crunching sound in my left shoulder whenever I was on the bench press, I seemed to avoid it with dumbbells.
Not good at all, luckily now I can rotate my shoulders and I feel fine and there's no noise.

Good to hear you back in action!

I started looking at some of Canditos videos on his youtube channel, saw th one about the bicep injury when doing deadlifts, and how you can reduce the risk by using the "hook grip" method. Never knew it existed.

Here is a site which shows the different methods etc.

Will be starting with hook grip next week.

Finished my last bit of L-Glutamine yesterday (thank goodness because that stuff tastes horrible and I could never really see a difference).

I've heard somewhere that I should rather get a BCAA supplement and I'm now thinking of getting Amino Boost from Nutritech. It has a complete BCAA complex and also L-Glutamine. So best of both worlds, right?

Going to stick with Nutritech because their prices are really good.

How do you take these? With your post workout shake?

I made my own dip bars this weekend but still have to mount them on the wall. (Previously made a pull-up bar and a squat rack)

But not sure how wide they should be apart.

Anybody have an idea or care to measure the ones at the gym please?

So, back in the gym after a nearly 2 month break. Can't believe how weak I got during that time! Anyone have experience in how long it takes to get back to your previous strength? I figure it should be quite quick, +- 1 month?

I am also starting this evening after a couple weeks of "down" time.

From previous experience I noted that the body is an amazing thing, muscle memory kicks in quite quickly i'd say give it 2 maybe 3 weeks and you should be back to where you were.

Yea that was my thoughts as well. Just dealing with the massive DOMS at the moment :/!

Not sure if this would be the correct thread to request this but, here goes...

Since its the month of the fast, I've been fasting for about a week and a couple days, and have not been going to gym (because i gym at work, and i don't take lunch so that i can make it home in time to break fast with my family), So i cannot gym, (Been gyming for about 4 or so months now), this brings me to my question, so since i eat twice a day only, for Breakfast, i have a cup of Jungle Oats, Table spoon of Flora butter and 2 Tea spoons brown sugar, a Banana and 2 - 3 Glasses of water, and this all before 05:30 in the morning, then i eat again at night also round 17:30 or so, when we break fast, but this time i eat more or less what ever we having on that day, not counting calories or protein, im literally just shoveling as much of what ever i can into my mouth (i know its going backwards and damaging what i might have done in that 4 or so months of gym) just to get rid of the intense hunger at the time, but now, i don't want to carry on with that.

If possible, can somebody recommend 2 solid meals, maybe even 3 depending on what time the 3rd meal should be consumed. 1 that i can have in the morning, before i start fasting - if the Oats and fruit is not sufficient. And another that i can break my fast with, something filling, that's obviously going to get rid of the crazy hunger pangs, and at the same time be nutritious and not damaging!

On a side note, i have maybe 1 glass of cool drink a night, and then for the rest of the night, i have about 1 liter of water.

Rested my upper leg for a week, only cycled at gym for about 12mins on 3 days - was back at touch rugby yesterday - pulled the same muscle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gonna give it a 2 week rest now and see...:(

use your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) to find a correct calorie amount and punch it in there
