The Droid TV thread

The RC11 USB receiver is a bit too long, insert it into a USB port and slowy pull it out until the remote responds :)

Tried that but didn't have any luck. Plugged in a USB hub and then the receiver in to the hub and it works now. Will try play around a bit more and see if I have any luck

Cool. I connected my receiver to the USB port that's closest to the back of the MX, see if that makes any difference?

I spoke to the guys at Matricom and they confirmed that the CPU's normally run at 95 - 100% when streaming and will cause no problems.

I had similar problems with the USB receiver on a Chinese wireless keyboard that I bought from Amazon a year ago. I needed to slide a thin piece of cardboard or paper between the metal shell of the USB plug and the plastic insert with the gold contacts. This raises the contacts slightly so that they can touch the opposing contacts in the female connector. Maybe that might help.

I have this lovely device and I haven't changed anything or updated the firmware that came with it (1.1.6 I think), but now I have a problem with XBMC continuously scanning for new content. I switched the debugging mode on to assess the errors but cant find the log file or its location as specified by XBMC. Using Ghost Manager or the default File Manager.

Is there a way to find the xbmc log file?
BTW: The DroidTV is a client accessing media from a MYSQL database via samba...I hope I'm making sense

Get the XBMC log uploader from xbmc.org as an addon under programs and you can get the log there

Could be a caching issue. If you've got fusion installed, use the maintenance wizard to empty the cache

What is the gotham release for?
Gotham is the codename for the latest XBMC version. 13.x if I'm not mistaken. The major upgrades are detailed here:
http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=XBMC_v13_(Gotham)_FAQ#What_is_.22Gotham.22.3F

What is openelec?
http://wiki.openelec.tv/index.php/O...s._XBMCbuntu._What_is_the_difference_to_me.3F

Openelec is an entire linux distribution for XBMC built from the bottom up with the 'fluff' removed - essentially a dedicated, lightweight XBMC distribution. I've used OpenElec for the Raspberry Pi.
