Wow Killadoob you only noticed Andrei Arshavin now.He was the star of Zenit St Pietersburg win in thre uefa cup final against rangers and is being tracked by ac milan.

It seems that 4-1 loss to Spain woke them up nicely. Germany vs Russia final, hmmm, could be interesting.

Russia has the largest population out of the teams in the Euros right?

If they get their academys right, and strengthen their local league they may be one of the dominant nations of the future.. larger population=lots of untapped potential talent

What is interesting is that most of the players in the russian national team actually play in Russia. That already says quite a lot about the standard in their domestic competition. Must be said though that Hiddink is a great tactician and widely recognised as one of the best coaches in the world because he can transform any average team into something special.

I'm really impressed with Arshavin, one of the better playmakers around. There's quite a few clubs in the EPL trying to get his signature if SKY reports are anything to go by. Sneijder from Holland is another.

I'd love to see Russia in the final.

Same here. It's not like UEFA cup is where the pinnacle of European football is at.

I agree that he's already at a great club, but it doesn't change the fact that a lot of other teams want him! A far as money goes, unfortunately I'm in two minds about that. On the one hand it's a professional sport and I guess money talks, but on the other I'm much more impressed with players who show some loyalty to a club. It's a sign of good character. The Ronaldo saga is a great example; he clearly has no loyalty towards Man U but does it really matter? I think it does but that's just the "old school" in me that's talking.
