The fine wine thread

Never knew that...thanks.
I don't know if you know, they also have live Zoom online wine tastings most Thursdays at 17h00 where they showcase some of their wines with a tasting panel. Joined most of the time by the specific wine farm's winemaker. Quite nice to watch.

Graham Beck over Krone and Simonsig?
Any day of the week, yes.

Krone and Simonsig are very, very good indeed, but Graham Beck is the best...IMHO.

South Africa makes exceptional MCC's...check out Cederberg 2014 Blanc de Blanc. It won best South African Sparkling Wine at CSWWC 2019. Also Le Lude is an amazing local MCC.

Thanks for the plug - will definitely try find a bottle of the Cedarberg

Yeah Graham Beck IS something special

TBH, I wasn't impressed with that Swartland Syrah.
It was a bulk deal: I got three bottles of that Swartland Syrah as well as 3 bottles of the Anthonij Rupert Syrah 2014, for R 1500.

The Anthonij Rupert Syrah 2014 alone is R 610 per bottle when buying it on it's own...and that Swartland Syrah is R 140 per bottle on it's own.

So R 2 250 worth of wine for R 1 500...
