The eBay posting includes an image from the B593s-82 documentation which indicates the frequencies supported.

What's the max speed theorticallyon the B593-82/601 routers. If memory serves me correctly it is 150 meg.

hopefully such rotuers will be available in the market soon. That use both freq 3G & LTE at the same time. If I read the article correctly.

If anybody knows where to purchase B593-82 router please let me know will purchase it and give feedback will also check with Huwei Directly

Media & USB

I've read up everywhere but can't seem to get it working. I want to connect a 1TB USB to my modem so that I can play music and videos remotely.

I've inserted the USB - but it's not showing up in the USB section http://homerouter.cpe/html/application/usbstorage.asp

Also - does anybody know how to use the SAMBA or DLNA server options?

This has been disabled by default or patched up due to a vunerability allowing access to hackers. Read it somewhere would advice disable uPnP...

I still don't get it though as the allocated IP's should be marked as unavailable for the remainder of the lease term, typically 12 hours.

Perhaps the implementation on the B593 isn't very good and the IP's are marked as available again immediately; then the three laptops, coming out of hibernation, look for the same IP's and start causing conflicts for at least three other devices (six devices trying to use the same three IP's; you should get conflict notices on those devices though).

The other sure fire fix of course is to disable DHCP and use fixed IP's. This is not the first consumer DHCP I've come across that works badly. All or this would be a non issue if Huawei brought out regular firmware updates for the B593. I've not seen one to date. The world's leading LTE router and Huawei treat it like a castaway.

Narrowed the issue down seems to issue is caused by my asus rt-n15u which I am using as a repeater since I disconnected it the b593 working flawlessly
 
Huawei B880-73, and 2x Poynting LPDA 0092 ordered. Will post once up and running.

Hi all, wondering what your experiences with data usage has been on this device.

I have this router up and running now for two weeks and love its speed but am experiencing huge standby data usage. First I am an IT manager with 30 years’ work experience in networking and route and firewalls so I know a fair deal.

As long as the router is on there seems to be a steady trickle of traffic that I cannot account for. I am not talking about downloads or update, etc. In short if I leave the router on I use 1Gig of data per 24 hours, that’s 30Gigs a month. Only light surfing and two S# cell phones connected. NO downloads, updates or torrents. Overnight usage while the house is asleep and the only connected devices would be the two cell phone is on average 500+ Megs. This seems abnormal, I understand that apps on the phone will always use data but not 500megs per night?

I have gone so far as to deploy Wireshark to capture and inspect packets on my network, no 3rd party has “hacked” in to the wireless network and no obvious culprits stand out.

Has anyone else experienced this?
 
Nope, nothing like that at all. :( Has to be one of the phones....uninstall any suspicious Android apps immediately.

Shutdown one of S# during the night to find out which one is responsive. If doesn't help, shutdown WiFi to find out whether router is hacked from outside or from WiFi.
And yes, it very possible for a single S#, even more...

Also check if Samsung is not downloading OS system update. Apple will do it on WiFi connection without asking, why not Samsung?. In the case of Apple it is up to 1.2GB (iOS 7.1).

Step 1
Make sure your router is up-to-date with the latest firmware version.

Step 2
Download an app for your smartphone called bandwidth monitor to traffic your WI-FI/data traffic& Telkom Mobile APP.
Make sure your device(smart phone's) are running the latest updated OS firmware&disable automatic download app updates in Play Store.

Step 3
Disconnect all devices connected to the router (WI-FI&lan). Connect 1 device to the router via WI-FI/lan let your connection idle for 2 hours without doing any browsing/downloading e-mails/ have apps running in the background then check your data usage using Telkom Mobile App / PC version WEB

Step 4:

If you notice something irregular - change your router password immediately (SSID Profile)

Step 5:

If you paranoid like me - I would suggest activate all 4 WI-FI SSID profiles - allow 1 connection (example smartphone 1 connects to SSID 1 & Smartphone 2 - connects to SSID 2 and so forth).

Step 6: Disable automatically operating system updates.

Question whoever is living in your household who has access to your internet(router). If they using the connection to do irregular bandwidth hungry sites such as youtube etc...

Remember everytime you run a speedtest.net the bandwidth gets subtracted from your usage..

Just received my Huawei B593s-82 router. It has a USB port which apparently affords you the opportunity to connect your USB printer to it and then print to it via the wireless connection to the router. I have got a Canon MP630 printer but have not been successful in my attempts to set it up this way. On the router's dashboard/admin/setup it does not show any settings for printer under the USB Management heading. Only seems to cater for FTP server setup.

Anyone who has been successfully in connect a USB printer to these routers and being to print to it? Please help. Else I will just have to buy a USB print server and connect it to the LAN port on the router.
 
Hi guys, I have a question and need some help.

I have the 593, a DIR 655 and 2500U dsl modem. When my cap runs out on my 593 I would like to switch to adsl in some convenient way so that all the devices on my network go through the dsl or visa versa.

Can I do this with the H/W I have or should I just get software firewall (smoothie or similar?)?

I heard that the USB port was disabled by default due to security issues. Not on my router, but check if it is enabled?

So just to clarify, did you plugin your printer and then search for it on a client computer over WiFi? I don't remember the B593 box specifically advertising this.

I plugged the printer into the USB port at the back of the router which in the manual is indicated as a port for USB drives or printer (optional). I then attempted to setup a connection to the printer from the laptop which has a wireless connection to the router
 
How did you try add the printer? As a network printer?
 
Hmm, did you try just scan for a network printer? No manual settings are required for these types of things. You certainly don't have to create a new port.
