Just finished flashing my new Custom fw.

What exactly is the "Edge Settings fix for 1.1.4 firmware".

With regards to this thread, do you think the Edge fix will maybe sort our problem out?

Mobile Flickr

You can view all your Flickr pictures, and of course your friend’s too. There’s search, explore, and best of all, upload photos from the camera roll. You can install via the XK72 Repository. See the video for all the info:

I've been using iFlickr before this and i can say this looks much cooler than iFlickr.. Will have to give this a shot

I built my own firmware with PwnageTool 1.1. I selected BSD Subsystem and the SSH during the process..

After Restoring my iPhone, I tried to install the AppSupport from iClarified and it requested that I need to download BSD Subsystem. Shouldn't it be installed already?????

Hmm try uninstalling it from installer and reinstalling it again through installer..

Let me know what happens

Doesn't make sense. If you installing via PwnageTool -Custom Packages, i shouldn't need to reinstall it again through Installer.app - it should already be installed after flashing.

Are you having same problems?

Don't want to irritate you guys but just to let you know that I have Iphones for sale. Check the classifieds for more details...

Then I would just like to ask if some of you also experience the google map problem where when you zoom in it becomes all tiled pictures of something and doesn't load to show the real location?

Hmm maybe the location you are tying to zoom in on wont let you becuase you cannot zoom in on that location anymore..

This is usually the case with less "well-known" areas. Try zooming out until you see the image again. - This will be the furthest you can zoom in for teh selected area..

The guys that are using Pwnage 1.1.4 as their firmwares, has your phone ever just turned off by itself?

This weekend my phone turned off by itself 3 times. The only way I could turn it on again was by hard-resetting it (Home Button + Power for 5 secs).

Anyone else experience this problem yet?

Good to hear!! I have yet to give it a shot..

Have you tried it using skypeOut?

Ok, I am not a huge user of Skype until now, so am not too sure what SkypeOut is???? But I have used it to chat to my brother, both using fring on our iPhones, and making a call through Skype to him, both using fring. Is that what you meant?

Also, just a note, the latest version of Ringtones now has a facility where you don't have to convert the song to use it as ringtone, it just assigns the song, but you can still run the convert if you want to select start and end spot on the song. The earlier versions created a lot of static on my songs once converted.

And, have you seen BossPrefs, an alternative to Services, with a lot more options, also very nice.

Oh, regarding the whole SMSD thing again, I still can't get through my whole firewall to change the settings to 755, but is there a source I could add to get the latest version of SMSD, as Installer still only lists version 2.1 (I think).

Thx

MXit for the iPhone!

Well kind of.... :D

Just came accross a tip on the MXit forums.. (props to Niepsie)

I've tweaked his original post and come up with this:

1) Sign up for a Gmail account from www.gmail.com

2) Navigate to http://iPhone.beejive.com on your iPhone

2) Login using your GMail account you created in step 1

4) Add your MXit contacts under the international format format - e.g 27821234567@mxit.co.za (or Get your contacts to add you from MXit as a GTalk contact)

5) Press the + button on the bottom of the page and click "Add to Home Screen" (firmware 1.1.4 only) or if your not on 1.1.4 , "Add to Bookmarks"

Enjoy ;)

The only downside is you have to add your contacts (or they have to add you) again, but its better than nothing!!

EDIT:

Cookie Fix: I wasnt aware of a cookie problem with jailbroken 1.1.4 iPhones. The problem i was having is that cookies were not saving properly in Safari. In this instance it was BeeJive which kept asking me to login every time i visited the site..

I came accross this:

Well now that fix is packaged up into a nice installer.app package! Just add our repo: http://appledailytimes.com/installer and you will be logging into sites in no time!

The reason that this happened in the first place is stupid apple forgot to make the Cookies folder run as Mobile :p. Instead, it runs as root. Meaning Safari, which runs as Mobile, can not write to that root-privileged folder, as it does not have permissions to. There are literally thousands of poeple experience this problem who are legitimate AT&T, un-jailbroken users. So this has nothing to do with jailbreaking.

But anyway, now that we can fix it, why should we complain?

So simply add http://appledailytimes.com/installer as a source in Installer , install 1.1.4 Cookie Fix and voila, problem solved :)
