Very awesome app! Don't think i'll keep it thought.

There's a horrible bug that displays the vWallpaper over my Springboard, not allowing me to click on any icons.

Hmm thats a weird one... You did disable theme wallpaper right?

Doesnt happen for me... It is in its early stages with a few bugs but im sure they will be sorted out soon enough...Until then i will also not be using it as my default background

Just thought its a very cool app...Like dreamscene for the iPhone

My findings in a quick sentence about iBuilder....

At the moment i really don't think you guys should waste your time with it. There are permission issues with applications, you can't update your software. Some apps don't show up in your springboard.

I'd just hang in for the time being, DevTeam will soon update the PwnageTool and it will have it's own bundle builder incorporated into the software. Until then, do all your downloads manually via installer.

For those Pwnage dudes on Mac, make sure to download Fake BSD Subsystem from apptapp.saurik.com in order for the installer to 'see' the real BSD.

Laters...

Oh yes and I forgot to mention. I have made my own carrier bundle for Vodacom and it does work. So if anyone needs it you can grab it here and add it to PwnageTool.app. It does kinda help with the 'Call Back' problem as well.

If any other guys using other carriers, let me know, and I dont mind making a bundle for you to add to your own Custom Package.

Thanks for the info!

I was about to try ibuilder, so I'll hang in there a bit.

Carrier bundle sounds cool, although I like to do doing things manually. ;)

Hehe... Yeah I'm the same, especially after wasting most of my weekend trying to figure out how to get my bundles working properly!!!

If you go to one of my previous posts a page earlier, i posted a link as to where you can make your own carrier bundle via the webservice. I think the MCC settings make a difference with phone calls - not sure about this so it's not a guarantee fix to the Call Back error.

Just got my iPhone from the USA and don't want to read through al the threads.
Can someone please tell me latest and easiest method to unbrick?

16 Gig model, assume firmware is 1.14, havent checked yet, on charger at home.

16k Pay as u go Sim from MTN (probably won't work), also bought newer SIM from MTN and a Vodacom one just in case.

Got Windows XP an OSX Leopard.

unbrick? i assume you mean unlock? unbricking is a bit harder...

if you meant unlocking, pwnage would probably be the best/easiest to use seeing as you have osx... havent used it but theres a lot of rave about it so it should be good.

if you dont want to use that, i can recommend iLiberty+ for windows. its the easiest unlocking and jailbreaking app i've used. quickest as well...

a standard 32k vodacom sim will work fine, havent tried any other networks so i cant comment on them.

welcome to the iphone owners club!

Add iClarified as a bookmark.

All the guides are there to help you.

As mentioned above. I would also recommend using PwnageTool for Mac OS.

sufferwell has posted the link above.

Welcome ;)

Yeah i got mine for $300 = R3100

Sadly there was no stock of 16GB, only at the AT&T stores which required a USA billing address to buy..Too much hassle so settled for the 8GB.. 3G coming June 9th though!! Might pick myself one up :) Could sell this new one i got... Its a few days old..

Sister went to 7 different stores to get the phone, all sold out.
Guess the new one will be released soon.
She set up a USA billing address while she was there.

She paid the iStore guy a bit extra, because he didn't want to hand it over without activating it first.

Looks like u may have to buy the phone directly from AT&T in future.

alf, I recommend you install AppSupport from iClarified source. To add the iClarified source click here

It's a patch to fix your Caller ID and Dialer Crashing issue. I'm sure you've already noticed this....

You guys got them very cheap. Consider yourselves lucky ;)

I wish bud! This dude's still charging too much for them, by the time they arrive here with all the extra costs it's actually not even worth it.

I need to find the dude he is getting them from ;)

Anyone else can't get their sources to update in installer?

Installer issues?

What message do you get? unable to update sources.
press and hold the sleep button. the red slider bar should pop up, turn off device. power up the device, now when you go to installer check if you have any downloads sitting in a queue. clearing the queue, solves issues experienced when trying to download anything through installer.

If all else fails use the software reset option in your settings. one more month of third party app crap ... before Apple makes the installer option official. question is, are you guys gonna upgrade straight away? I wonder how many freeware/ shareware apps will turn into pay to play

Hey guys.

So i finally got my iPhone and i thought it would be cool for us to share cool apps and tips with each other.

I have unlocked, jailbroken, and enabled SSH on the phone.

I have found the following interesting applications:
  • Converter
  • Listen
  • VNotes (Voice Notes)
  • Customize
  • Summerboard
  • NES, GBA, PSX Emulator
  • SMSD
  • MMS
  • Added my own custom ringtones

My firmware version is 1.1.1

A useful tip I found is to get a needle and put it through each speaker hole (on the bottom left of the phone). This greatly increases volume sound as it removes some of the dirt obstructing the speaker.

What tips/tricks/apps do you guys have to share?
I bought an Apple iPhone 16GB and everything is running well - it's unlocked, all my data/contacts, pics and music were synced with my MacBook Pro.

Now to get the email and Safari settings ... just can't seem to get it right.

I'm on Vodacom (for smtp settings, I suppose) and my incoming mail server is Xsinet. I tried to sync the info re my mail settings via iTunes, but it just wouldn't work: iTunes keeps on telling me it can't do it as the iPhone is using the email address. Even after deleting all info re the email address from the iPhone, it still doesn't work.

What should I do? It really helps me a lot to have email and web facilities at hand, but I just can't seem to get it going.

Thanks
