Mitchmagi, thanks for the voicemail setup - how the hell did you figure THAT out?!

Now, seeing that you're such a clever guy, please help me setting up my email on my iPhone. I am with Vodacom, and my email address is with Xsinet (now owned by @lantic) and I just can't get my email going. As far as I know the following are the correct settings (if not, please help):

Incoming Mail Server
Host name: pop3.xsinet.co.za
Username: [my email username]
Password: [my email password]

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
Host Name: smtp.vodacom.co.za

What did I do wrong? What else needs to be done?

I see a new ver of Customize is released that works on v1.1.4. Very cool for those if us that haven't used pwnage etc, to make your iPhone icons look a bit nicer.

Hi HairyOne25, for what it's worth, hope this helps with your email settings.

I am with MTN and Mweb, but my outgoing server (smtp) settings are those of mweb, not Mtn. Have you tried it with your email SP details?

winPWN Beta/Debug release 2 !

Warning This is still a Beta release. It's pretty stable but i would still advise waiting for final release

This release is not disabled in anyway. I no longer use QEMU and You will see some new features and will notice that it takes < 60 seconds to build and IPSW (at least on my machine). I have had reports that it has issues with Ipod 2.0225C but other then that it should work perfectly. If you find a bug please email me ( cmw@toc2rta.com ). This was built as a Debug bin and no code obfuscation was used. I will release full sources after we finish more beta tests

I would also like to note that this release would not be possible without the work of Squpix and Planetbeing who have helped develop and test winpwn.

Also with this version you can add your own apps to the custom firmware using the built in application finder(you can search for app by adding repositories)
It also has an online database for boot logos, wich means it will search for boot logos in a database. If you want to contribute you can sen your boot images to cmw@toc2rta.com and they will be added to the online image repository!

vWallpaper - Video Background for the iPhone

vWallpaper allows you to put a video instead of a static image as background for SpringBoard. It’s not exactly what you’d call useful, given its ability to rapidly drain your battery, but - hey! - you can turn in on for the few minutes it’s gonna take to impress your friends!

When you open vWallpaper, click on Settings and choose a video as background. As of now, there’s only two vids for choice (fire.mov and weater.mov), but if you want to use your own video, there is a workaround: manually put your own .mov-file (with WinSPC, for instance) in both folders “/Applications/vWallpaper.app/Library/Skrew/Videos” and “/Library/Skrew/Videos”, after renaming them like one of the preinstalled videos. Then, to set the selected video it is important to toggle the “Enable Video!” button OFF and ON again, before restarting Sprinboard. Without the OFF-ON switching, it won’t work. You can find vWallpaper in the category “Multimedia” of your Installer by adding Skrew’s repository to your sources. Note: if you’re using SummerBoard, don’t forget to deactivate your theme’s background first.

Note: The app is a little buggy at the moment. A bug i have noticed is that auto-lock is disabled..

WORKING MMS on Cell C

These settings worked for me PERFECTLY. Thank You.

I did have issues before on Cell C - How I managed to see if MMS was working, is that I put my sim card into another phone and called the call centre and ensure everything was correct.

It turned out there was a problem with my Sim Card, so they logged a technical call and it was resolved in an hour.

Then I put the Sim card in my iPhone and used the settings here, but with port:8080 and all is well

Ok, i downloaded books with both repo's. With the second one (called eBooks by Chris) everything downloads as normal and when you open eBooks, the book is there. With the first one (called eBooks by someone1guy) it downloads the books, but I have no idea where it places them. Any ideas?

Vodafone to distribute iPhones in ten new countries

LONDON (AFP) — British mobile phone giant Vodafone announced Tuesday that it will distribute Apple's iPhone in 10 new countries including Australia, India and South Africa.

Vodafone said in a statement that under its accord with Apple, it will also have the right to sell iPhones in the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, New Zealand, Portugal and Turkey.

The phones that it sells will be intended to work on the Vodafone network.

Its a permission problem...

Use WinSCP, right click on the EBooks directory (root/private/var/root/Media), and under the Common tab, click the following permissions:

Owner R W X Group R X Other R X

Once clicked the number in the 'Octal' box should be 755. Click 'Ok' and hopefully that works....of course you should verify that your books are in the root/private/var/root/Media directory.

I sure to god hope so.... Its driving me nuts..

Not to mention the AppSupport patch no longer works for me..

My numbers are being displayed as +2782 when people call me instead of it displaying their name (as i saved their numbers as 082...)

My AppSupport works perfect for me. Try uninstalling and reinstalling then rebooting.

If i'm not mistaken you use PwnageTool? I can give you the Vodacom Carrier bundle i made and try it out if it works - but that means restoring your iPhone!! Missions...

Hmm i think my PhoneNumberTemplates.txt might have the wrong format for SA...

Limnos could you do me a favour and upload your PhoneNumberTemplates.txt located in /System/Library/Frameworks/AppSupport.framework/Support so i can try it out?

Fxit I've just checked my call list and even though I don't have appsupport installed caller ID works for me, my numbers are in international format.

My recent call list has many numbers that I do not have in my phonebook but those that are Caller ID worked.

I posted a tutorial before where you don't need appsupport and just need to have you phone numbers converted to international using windows address book but can't find it, think I deleted it.

I fixed it...

It was a SIM Contacts import gone wrong... Deleted contacts then reimported and all is ok
