Raging Thunder Looks Like SDK App, Available Now

Polarbit has created a really cool game for the iPhone and iPodTouch that starts to take advantage of the potential gaming and graphics capabilities. The game is called Racing Thunder and is a great look at what we can expect to come in the near future.

Ja, just busy with it.
Quite impressive.

At 1.3 megs, it'll fit on a stiffy disk.

Yeah that suprised me too!! Have no idea how they fitted all that in there...

Cant wait for a landscape mode :D iPhone will be like a racing wheel :p

Its called a bug :)

No one has sound yet...

There are a few other bugs which you will encounter..

I cant play championship mode (cant start), cant resume a race (quits to home screen), auto accellerate turned off doesnt work and vibration doesnt work yet..

Sure they'll be sorted (then we can expect them to slap a fat price tag on it ) :)

Hopefully installer itself will still be free.

Wonder if Vodacom and MTN will fix their towers so that Google Maps can locate your position.
It thinks im in Kroonstad for some reason.

Haha... mine works fine :)

I think it depends on your signal in that area...

It uses Cell Tower Triangulation so im guessing youd need good signal (from 3 towers) for it to be accurate...

I just wonder if theyll fix that Call Failed message...Have no idea how u got rid of it... :(

iPhone Roms Goes Live

iPhone Roms has launched to give iPhone users the easiest and most direct access to NES, Genesis, SNES and GBA Roms for their iPhones. Thanks to the guys over at Nullriver, and all the guys of the iPhone Dev Team, it is now possible to add their repository directly onto the Installer App of any jailbroken iPhone in the world.

With unique scripts, iPhone Roms offers a one click solution for uploading any Rom for NES, Genesis, SNES and GBA directly on their servers and directly into their Installer Repository. What this means to all iPhone owners is once you upload a Rom using the "One Click ROM Upload" section on the right hand side of the page, that Rom is immediately available by refreshing the sources of the Installer App on the iPhone. There are only 3 conditions to be met while uploading Roms, the Rom must end in .nes, .bin, .smd, .smc or .gba, the Rom must be in a .zip archive and there must only be one Rom per .zip file. Most places available for downloading Roms already meet all of this criteria.

iPhone Roms supports the NES, Genesis, SNES and GBA emulators. All of these Emulators can be downloaded from the "Emulators" category of the Installer App once the iPhone Roms source is added. Like the Roms, these Emulators are free downloads for the iPhone.

To get access these to Roms for your iPhone, add the source, repo.iphoneroms.com, to the Sources of your Installer App.

Woop!

Ha ha, see you didn't mention that.

Are you serious about the apps being charged for? That's not good!

Dead serious unfortunately... With firmware 2.0 comes the official "AppStore" being released by Apple themselves where developers can choose their own prices for apps or make them free (but doubt we'll see many good free apps)

Hopefully they'll get Installer running on the new firmware when its released., but even so, i think the devs will move over to the SDK because its so much easier to make apps with and they can charge for their apps easily...

So i think the release of firmware 2.0 will mean the death of Installer :(
